it's clearly too near to FF 11 Atomos , the spines are at the exact same places , same shape etc .

uh... that's not really different. it's basically the same design. The art is a little different, but it's basically the same shape and concept.

The FFXIV version's tail bends to the side at the end, the XI doesn't. Case closed.

Did anyone ever stop to think that Atomos looks like it does because, oh I dunno... that's what it @#$%ing looks like? Would you rather them change things up a bit and make it looks like a cat?

I like how people see it and immediately think "abyssea!" when Atomos and cavernous maws were added to the game long before abyssea was even around.
