Randomized death of retainers as casualties of Dalamund

How about this idea, how many of you are attached to your retainers?

To evoke the appropriate emotional response from current players regarding the end of the world, perhaps SE can do a randomize death of retainers, to make things more realistic.

Someone suggested an idea of randomize wipe of players as casualties, and of course this was hugely unpopular, even though it could be a good idea.

So this is similar, but randomize death of retainers, and then there would be a cemetery with tombstones of your retainers you can visit in 2.0. If you want to be even more realistic, there could be a chance that some of your items get wiped too.

This event would bring it that much more personal to you. What do you think?

I'll be honest - I'm all for the random death of other people's retainers, the ones who only set it there for giggles with an item being sold for max gil to decorate it? Yeah those can burn since people won't move from Ul'dah, however I'm not THAT attached to my retainers but it would be sad to see my lalafell die off, he's made me so much gil

Very interesting idea. Maybe those retainers with ridiculous names could be targeted, also, those retainers that do not meet 6'0" height requirement could be the first ones to go.

In all seriousnessity, I think this would be a great idea. Also, the ones who get their retainers killed may have a chance of receiving a bonus ring accessory as condolences.
