On the topic of familiar FF elements...did anyone else cringe when they first saw Goblins in FFXIV, and then do a double-take when you realized that they weren't aggressive? Oh yes, so many fond memories of death-by-goblin in XI ^^ I'm still wary when I run by the higher leveled ones in XIV, like the "non-aggressive" icon is going to turn red as I run by and I get troll-pwned. Anyways, what were we talking about again? Oh yea, I like the Atomos model.

I'm a FFXI player, that's ashamed to be called a FFXI player, cause too many FFXI players have a rep of being whiners, stuck-up, snobbish or blatantly ignorant. . . .

As for the topic, it didn't make me pee my pants like the FFIX one did, that's for sure.

I felt a bit of horror myself when i saw atomos in the update notes. I was like omg not abyssea again. Then I calmed down and realized it easily can be something completely unrelated. My only other concern, that is extremely small is, the last time we saw atomos added to the game, that game pretty much went to crap, imo. It was complete easy mode after that. And this game is already easy-mode so hopefully it wony get any easier lol. I played FFXI for like 9 years, I even played into abyssea for a time. I'll admit I enjoyed it, but it really did change the game for the worse. But that's just my opinion, take it however you want. There are people that agree, and people that disagree. I've had high hopes for FFXIV sense the beginning, and stuck with it all this time, so I'm definitely not going to freak out and rage quit about seeing atomos, i don't even know how its going to change the game further, besides what we are seeing today. But the point of the OP was to find out how people felt i think initially, and i will admit i was shocked and horrified at first. But just like wind waker, I got over it and enjoyed the hell out of it.

Don't worry. You need a party for the Atomos quest or the monsters kill you.

Atomos just stands for time distortion/travel, not necessarily we will now wreck your game. o.o;;; Though I'm sure what happened in XI is debatable anyway, especially outside this community. I have no idea what the drama is about anyway as I had left just before Abyssea came out.
