As did I, because It fits almost perfectly with what we're hearing about ARR -- Atomos has always been an odd summon and his use was amplified in XI storywise. The last story element prior to it was in FFIX where it just decimated Lindblum.

Well not every of them looked always the same... I'm still hoping for a Fat Chocobo to store my items and solve my inventory issues lol

Beside that, dear OP, XIV is still a Final Fantasy world and people is expecting to see Cid, Airships, Chocobos, Cactuars, Tomberry, Ifrit, Bahamut, Odin, Shiva (I wanna see this sexy chick again~), etc etc... and even if sometimes they have re-designs (or if not) the fans will get excited and happy -somehow- about it. I suppose this is the same feeling about this Atomos thingy now...

It's similar to the other Atomoses (Atomosii?) but it's identical to the XI one.

This isn't a bad thing though. It's a homage, same as XI style Goblins.

Yes I was happy they used the same goblin design as well, it's an XI creature I've come to be really fond of, even though many of them bombed me senseless many times over. XD
