no barracks

I am a second serpent lieutenant, currently level 58, and have unlocked the challenge log. I have done squadron and commander, but the barracks are not available to go into when I speak with the company personnel officer. What am I missing? I am totally lost.

Are you sure you haven't changed grand company? Since doing that quest a while a go?
I'm not sure that you have do re-do Squadron and commander. But you definitely have to r do a couple of the early quests when starting one of the other GCs for the first time. And you have to re-rank for that GC. (But you never lose a tank in a specific GC once you have the rank for that GC)

If you switch GCs, you need to rank up until you gain access to the squadron again, at which point you will get your whole team back exactly as they were. Then IIRC all you need to do is send them on the two specific missions that give you promotions.

Well, I have just shown just how much of a newbie I am. There is a door with a glowing enter point that is the barracks. I was told I had to talk to the personal officer to get into the barracks, which I never saw the choice to do. When I watched a YouTube video on it, he never showed him going threw the door. Hey, sometimes I can't get get automatic doors to work for me IRL.
That REALLY sucks.
