    FF 14 has the worst dungeons

    I played quite a few mmos but FF 14 is king for having the most boring dungeons I ever played. FF 14 dungeons are exactly the same from one another. Trash mobs are pointless, you have invisible walls so you can't pull more then 2 packs of mobs.. is it so hard to make dungeons unique?

    I don't understand why YoshyP is fine with this.. I refuse to farm these boring dungeons for tomes.

    It wasn't always like this. Dungeons used to be a tad more exciting in what they asked players to do. But that had to be pushed away for a more "streamlined" experience (read - playable by bots so duty support works).

    variant should be the way to do dungeons, but as you said : tomes exist which defeat any replay value and makes gearing boring

    It is sad, especially when most casual players use dungeons to get their weekly tomes. I stopped doing that back in EW because the design was so bad and while DT has improved dungeons in terms of mechanics, it is still roughly the same to where you are better off jumping on a hunt train 1 day of the week and capping out with that and a few trial roulettes.

    People keep bringing up that they had to be this way because people would find the most efficient way to run dungeons anyways so why bother without even considering the reason this is the case. The game has so little content it forces you to overfarm them and repeat the same thing until you barf.

    So yeah, when your choice is to run the same thing for the 1,000th time it's not gonna be fun, and its not like taking the most optimal path to finish it is fun either, they literally just do it that way so they can get the hell out ASAP. Tome farming should be removed from dungeons and moved into field content so dungeons can be interesting again and people don't feel physically sick from seeing them.

    NOBODY wants to be there.

    I also wish we could see more interesting boss battle not gonna lie. I wish we could see like the first dungeon of ew but better or even in a raids well mostly in alliance raids like the most interesting battle we got in DT that is like insane but could be better is the jueno when you fight the five ark angel so much potential right there for bosses but you just make them thougher and hellish

    I mean i dislike how formulaic the game is but you can simply choose not to do that

    The design is like this so it could work for trusts. And soon, old trials will be changed so you can queue with trusts. The designs were bad even before trusts but trusts are the reason they'll never be creative again.
