Also the character animations are motion capture and well... >.> ffxi had the same thing all black magic casting was the same, all white magic casting was the same, same for summoning and blue magic.

Imo sometimes "big buget" effects/ animation kinda get cheesy after a while. After a while ppl just don't care and only care about the dmg it does. Why put in a ton of data in for something that in a year no one will give a flip about. After a week I tuned out my casting in ffxi and just seeing the dmg I do. think the only effects I liked in ffxi was the enspells. And only because they was simple.

There IS a difference in animations for certain classes....Pugilists cross their arms before they do a spell, kinda. Well, at least both hands move over the body, whilst for GLD, your shield arm stays at your side and only your weapon arm moves.

Kilta, you're right about that, except for the Ancient Magic. It IS a bit worrying when your normal tier-1 spell looks more powerful than the Ancient Magic ones, seeing as they are meant to be BOOMPH and all that jazz.

Offtopic: Does anyone use magic which is based on their own affinity? I'm heavily aligned with water and earth, so I commonly use those two elemental spells.

I was wondering the same thing. I have allocated most of points in Fire,Wind,Thunder and Earth, so I can get more crystals when I fight mobs and also when crafting. Atleast I hope it's helping me. >.> Anyways, I have just started messing around with Conjurer and I pretty much use those elements the most. Am I doing it right or not? Also, the stats on the weapon you have equipped do they mean something? I know it's somewhat off hand topic. :P
