As of right now, there's barely anything to buy with achievement certificates from the master of rolls. I'm sure it's low to zero priority, but it would be nice if they would improve the achievement system to have things to buy with points.

No
They will never make achievements worth anything useful. You will grind 2000 Accursed Hoards for absolutely no purpose other than getting 20 achievement points and you will like it. That is the only thing to do in ff14.
If you want something more meaningful might I suggest trying out Marvel Rivals?
If the achievment certificates had more value then people would get locked out of buying the cool new stuff and we can't have that. Can you imagine the backlash when they put a cool new item behind the certificates and people would realize they have already spent all of them on the last cool item and now they actually have to play the game and grind achievment points?
It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
Imagine motivating people to spend time in the game. I'm sitting on 400 or 500 unspent certificates, some meaningful rewards would be nice (a mount for 300 or something)
i hope not... the higher achievements in this game are an atrocious way over the top grind
No they won't.
The achievement tokens were their half-baked example at trying to make achievements meaningful by funneling the old veteran rewards into it.
Further, the only updates they have made towards making them meaningful is adding in some adventurer plates for like 2 tokens, which are also tied to achievements, and in most cases the achievements on the way will give more tokens than what the actual reward cost. So all they've done is really created it as a gameplay quota.. Something they have quite the knack for.
Come on, guys. SE has put in a ton of work in perfecting a system where you exchange digital currency for various mounts and cosmetics.
It's called the cash shop.

No and here's why...
We used to have Veteran Rewards, which were given based on subscription time. New players would eventually have to be subscribed for years to get the same rewards their friend has. They couldn't just catch up to their friend in a reasonable timeframe.
So they stopped adding new Veteran Rewards and added most of them to be bought with Achievement Certificates. Since many new players are probably not actual achievement hunters, everything costs only 2 certificates.
Due to posts like this, they recently began adding new rewards to it. But they still cost just 2-3 certificates, which is nothing to people that have played since ARR.
