Im dealing with same problem now and while I have different PC specs, I have same situation.
Built my PC June 2024, played ffxiv for 8 months, took break, logging in just few times per month for some minor casual activity, and mid febraury started logging again to do pvp. Crashes start appearing approximately 25-26 feb 15-60 mins ingame.
Tried many things. Nothing helps so far. Really weird thing that I played like 15.02-25.02 without any issues and then start crashing.

    Update:

Working with Intel and Razer to exclude the CPU and the Mouse software as potential causes.

I can safely rule out Razer, as their software had no updates when the issue began occurring, and has since had additional updates and the problem persists.

Still working with Intel on testing to verify my belief that the issue is not a hardware based one.

An odd pattern is also emerging. If I have NOTHING, or something totally static (like a notepad document) on my second monitor, I get either no crashes, or 3+ hours before any crashes. However, if a website is up (like Garlandtools, or a collection checklist site), as I sometimes do, and previous to this issue almost always did (DPS queues can be brutal long) the time before crash drops significantly, and a crash will happen. Almost as if some change to FF14 now makes it very very very touchy to anything else running, especially if it wants to change an image on a monitor (ie a video stream)

It is also getting worse when it crashes as the last 5 I have had do not show any error box, or even any locking, just a straight up instant drop to the desktop.

Once I finish with the testing with Intel, I will look into the next steps here.

Another crash, another flare up of fustration.

Loaded up game today, played for 45 minutes, hard crash to desktop, no error window. Reloaded into game, lasted 41 minutes, this tim, for the first time in 8 crashes, it gave me a window. I love how even though my PC is eastern, the BIOS is eastern, the OS is eastern, it reports the error time as PST........

And yes, I do see the top 2 items in the list are not FF14 files.

As another aside, for the Tech staff who are undoubtedly going to tell me again to revert to DX9, in this article https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...42c71c7549a3a7 Direct from SE, after patch 6.58 DX9 is no longer going to be supported. Unless this was eitehr rescinded (which I cannot find any release for) or they never actually removed it, I cannot say, but it is one thing that is continually recommended or me to do, even though I keep pointing out there is not way to revert that I can find, even with thier directions (the option in the launcher isn't there). Just adding it in.

    Another day, another crash.

Loaded up game today, played for a otal of 3 hours, and had 3 crashes within that time frame. 1st crash was mid MSQ, and gave me an error box (below). The remaining crashes were while I was crafting in Revenants Toll and they were direct dumps to desktop. Crashes happened at 1hr20m, , 47m after that, and 23 minutes after the 2nd.

I did realize I was looking wrong, and the crash time in the box isn't PST, it's the time/date stamp of the executable file for FF14. My bad.

Also in looking at some other threads, the Mods/Support say to run the game as an Admin. this does not work (or did not for me when tested). In other threads here and elsewhere, going back as far as 2022, trying this results in a 'Unable to Complete Version Update [30426][19900][740]' error when you try and start the game from either Steam or the FF14 Launcher. Turning this option off on the said executable and the game runs.

Alright, its a bit early to say because I need more online no crash time but it seems I managed to fix problem.

After crashes start happening I never really managed play even 1 frontline game (10-15 minutes) now I played 4, 1 hour afk, 2 Rival Wings games and didnt had a crash or any problem.
That is including a lot of stuff as a side programs, such as Discord, Google Chrome with million tabs, Spotify, VPN...

Last things I did in order to try fixing problem were:

    • Reinstalled all VCRedists as it shown in this video for Death Stranding error https://youtu.be/iIWkMzcQa-g

    • When crashes start appearing I noticed that 26.02.2025 I installed Microsoft Windows Desktop Runtime 9.0.2. Back then I tried deleting it but it didnt helped. Today I decided to try installing previous version 9.0.1 so it might be one of things that also helped

    • Updated MSI Center and installed all related/or not drivers for everything (not graphic drivers tho, as it was one of first things I tried)

    • (probably not the case but) Made discord to run as administrator

    • I also not sure if I had it before or not (sorry, I really did a lot of things for past days to fix stuff) but I might set ffxivboot, ffxivboot64, ffxivupdater64 to run as administrator.

I will play more tomorrow to see if crash still happening or not. I hope not. And I hope this stuff will be useful for you @ThetaCoder and for anyone else who experienced problems.

    New week, new crashes.

Loaded up game today, played for a total of 2 hours, and had 2 crashes within that time frame. 1st crash was while walking around the Firmament, and gave me an error box (below). The remaining crash were while participating in the Fete. The first crash was 1h56m after I logged in, and the second was 10 minutes after I logged back in from that one.

These make it very hard to actually accomplish or be able to plan anything, which really brings down the enjoyment of the game. TO say nothing of lost rewards since I crash out in the middle of FATE/Dungeon/etc.

    Almost.....not

Ok, so a few days of updates on the game performance. Right now I am mostly on potato settings, with only the screen resolution being upped (2560x1440 60Hz) And here is what I got recently. I also installed at Intels' request the newest WHQL certified driver for the onboard graphics, even though they are not in use. This had just been released in the last few days. Sadly, it made no difference.

3/11 This run was in the afternoon, and after a fresh boot of the PC, not even mail checking before playing. lasted a whole 13 minutes before a crash, box details below. This was a pretty simple logon, cycle retainers, MSQ, Allied society quests and some idling, total session was 3.5 hours

3/12 Oh I thought it had fixed itself. A glorious 4h21m session with no crashes at all. And I was all over the game, retainers, crafting, MSQ, Guildhests, Firmament, Allied quests, gathering, pretty much everything and no issues.

3/13 Reality returns. Logged in and 1h39 minutes in (in the middle of a Firmament Fete) crash out with no box. Logged back in and got another 25 minutes in before I finished what I needed and logged out. Too bad.

Grrr...this is soo irritating, and that SE has gone incommunicado doesn't help.

Ok, so it's been a few days again, and some more updates.

I forgot to log my notes for 3/14, but to my recollection it was ok, no crashes, but I don t recall how long I was on for. As it's now also coming from Intel (yes, at this point I am listening to them more than SE as they at least stay in touch), I am running with a BIOS disabled onboard graphics. My run on 3/15 was also short, and had no issues, and no crashes, even when I loaded up the Nvidia overlay to capture and save some gameplay. Ok, so 2 session without issue, maybe this has cleared itself up, or a hotfix was pushed. NOPE. On 3/16 I logged in, and got almost 2 hours before a hard, really hard crash. I was running Fete in the Firmament and the screen locked, the music kept playing, then the screen went blank. music kept going. However, FF had grabbed the video control and refused to release it. It would not respond to Alt+F4, would not respond to canceling from the task bar. Had to reboot the machine to get control back and get it to close. No errors, no boxes, and again, NOTHING written to the event log.

I am almost to the point of canceling my da** game account as I get nothing from the developer, and more assistance from unrelated companies. There is ZERO excuse for this. A simple and quick perusal of the forums shows I am not the only one with this issue. So either there is no one paying any attention, IE Square doesn't care at all, or they have no da** clue despite all the data provided (IE their own dumps, and the frack offsets within the program that their error reporter gives) and are afraid to say anything. I do apologize for the tone, but this is now a MONTH where I have not been able to play, or enjoy the game. I cannot run dungeons, I can do events with friends, I can't do CRAP SINCE I CANNOT BE SURE IF THE GAME WILL STAY STABLE OR NOT!

And yes, I do realize there are thousands of players, and dieties know how many open tickets, but a very simple 'we see the update and will add it to our ongoing investigation', even as an auto responder would be more comforting and more information than I have been getting from the maker oft he game themselves.

Hi, I wanted to share my experience since I've also been living in this misery of not knowing when I'll crash, and having my game so dampened by it. This week I crashed when I opened the Faux Hollows board and was thus locked out of earning any leaves at all this week. Very miserable. Anyway. About 3 months before DT came out, I bought new parts and stopped my crashing (which had previously been hardware related - easy to see since Windows Event Viewer had proper logs indicating it). I had a blissful 3 months of no crashing, and enjoyed the game thoroughly. Then, DT came out, and the crashing started again. The same one you're experiencing - sometimes there would be error dialogue boxes which offered nothing useful, sometimes the error dialogue box would appear but the game would be fine so long as I didn't click the "ok" on the box, and I would sometimes collect up to 3 error boxes on another monitor while I kept playing. I can't remember what I did but something quelled the crashes and I was able to enjoy the game for a time. Then something happened, I think it was patch 7.15, and the crashing was back with a vengeance. After never ending misery like I outlined about crashing and losing my weekly unreal rewards, or crashing during Crystalline Conflict matches and feeling like I'm the reason we lost, so it made it hard for me to want to do content... It was awful. I'd had enough and tried everything. Restoring file integrity via the launcher, full on reinstall, bios update, GPU update, nothing fixed it. Then I read about people undertuning their CPU's, and it was the only thing left to try, so I figured I'd do it. Once I opened the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, I remembered having installed it before and turned some core performance down, and I wonder if this is what had gotten me stable last time when I had a temporary relief from it. That time I had only turned the core performance down slightly, this time I went more heavy handed with turning things down. It's been 3 days of leaving the game on for hours and not having a single crash. Like ~6 hours uninterrupted, each day.

I know you've talked earlier in the thread about running CPU tests, and working with Intel, but I'm not sure if you have tried underclocking? If you have, sorry for suggesting things you've already done. It helped me so I wanted to post it here where hopefully someone else could find it helpful too. Fwiw I have a Intel 13th gen i7-13700k (and the motherboard is Z790 AORUS PRO X WIFI7, which apparently has settings that overclock the CPU out of the box), and according to XTU it runs hot when I'm in major cities but not when I'm watching cutscenes or in a dungeon (could be a me problem and I need to clean my fans or something tbf) and CPU utilization is super low. I turned my Performance Core Ratio 3 below default, my Efficient Core Ratio 2 below default.
