I installed the F7 bios about 1 week after it(variant f) released (so about 8/15/2024). Now, there was one later version, version g which is dated as Sept 27,2024 and that was the final F7. I have F7F which had all but the very final microcode revision in it (0x12B). Gigabytes notes, few as they are, state the 12B merely encompasses the previous revisions which I have an added in the infamous 'Intel Default settings'. But my f variant supposedly had both the elevated voltage request issue and the eTVB algorithim issues in it.
According to the Intel CPU tester, it is fine (although I know that doesn't mean much). The machine was put together in May of 24, and came online around June 1st of '24, so it was up and running for 10 weeks before I put that BIOS in. But again, FF14 is the ONLY software crashing. nothing else is doing this.
I am a PC install, not steam, no steam overlay (and no Steam processes are running) and Discord 8is off, and not running either, and it's overlay is disabled anyways. The morons at Razer has essentially made it so I can't remove their software or I loses all buttons except left, right and the wheel, as well as the higher DPIs. I would not even have the Synapse in the system if it wasn't needed to make the mouse work.
All of my sessions I have used of this problem testing, and in general, are all clean boots from 'off'. No hibernation, no sleep, no fast boot. I power the machine on, log on, check my email, close the browser (firefox, no chrome, and Edge isn't running in background) and then I load up FF14.
I have been recently getting 'better' play times, but it miserable, having to run the resolution down to potato level, turn off all advanced features, essentially negating the entire RTX card, the game could run off the CPU graphics the settings are so low, and it still crashes, and now hasn't even been kind enough to give me the little white window with what actually failed.
And again, despite all the other games I play with no issues with the CPU or GFX, and are run at high/ultra settings, only FF14 is crashing, and only since the middle of Feb. Apologies for any perceived anger, it's just hard not being able to enjopy the game.
