What I want to see in 8.0

What I would like to see in 8.0

My first MMO was FF11 and to this day its my favorite MMO.

One of my favorite things to do in FF11 was getting the Jobs AF.

Farming keys, going through dangerous zones to find the coffers so you can Open them to get your AF. I died a lot but I had a blast... In FF 14 all you do is talk to a npc to get your full AF set.. I would like to see them get rid of that and do something similar to FF 11

Dungeons - I want to see them be more unique. Reason why I enjoyed ARR dungeons. There was dungens where you had to do more then just kill mobs, like Click on switch or stand on platform, Those little things made dungeons more fun.. I want to see Side dungeons that isn"t tied to MSQ

Gear - Gearing in FF 14 isnt fun at all.. I hope they\\'ll make Gear "fun" maybe add set bonuses. for Example, PLD 1st set bonus would be add a extra charge or Shield lob sits up to 3 mobs. That would make classes a bit more fun to play. Side note I\\'ll like to see Epic Gear.. farming blues give me that Meh feeling.

I would love to see them Port over the Glamour System from FF14 Mobile into Retail

I want that RPG feeling back in the game. I want to put points into my character maybe a Talent Tree or some sort.

I know these wont ever happen, YoshyP is set on the Copy and Paste content but we\\'ll see....

Any way This is what I like to see in 8.0.. What would you guys like to see?

I want ARR and Heavensward healing back, where healers were healing a lot more back then.

I want it where crafting and gather isn't locked behind the Main story quest. Maybe not have a Main story quest for it and just have lots of mini story quests with lots of content.

    A few points here:

AF - you might have thought that fun but that's certainly not how I remembered getting my AF in FFXI, I found it frustrating as all hell especially when I couldn't get the keys to drop (damn that RNG). And the handwear was gained a different way through a single quest shared across all Jobs that you had to repeat each time (involving yet more dungeon running to find the key to get some stupid item for the NPC, then the same boring fight against a generic bomb in Castle Zvahl. Yawn...

Now I admit here in FFXIV it's kind of gotten a bit anticlimatic by the time of EW being given the set by simply reaching the relevant part in the main scenario, where as I liked the original 1.0/ARR set gained through the Job quests, but alas we no longer have Job quests so it's kind of difficult to find some other way of giving the player the gear that doesn't involve pointless busywork but still makes it feel you earned it.

Dungeons - the player tail wagged the development dog with that one, players always speedran through ARR dungeons even back in ARR just to get their tomestones (or exploited certain paths for EXP gain - the first room in Aurum Vale as an example) and so SE simply oblidged by making it a single path you can rush through. And now with the Duty Support/Trust system requring dungeon mechanics to compensate for them, little wonder dungeons are streamlined into a single pathway with no variation. Besides, we do now have special dungeons with different paths - the Variant/Crieterion dungeon system and... guess what? No one does them because the majority have already rushed it and gotten their shinies from it. But they're there still if you crave that kind of thing.

Gear - gear 'bonuses' were scrapped because Yoshi doesn't want players to make certain gear a requirement for a certain duty because it has a bonus that can be exploited for it (FFXI suffered from this problem all too well). Gear here in FFXIV is simply now a tool to progress and you replace it with better gear stat wise as you go along. They're not going to change this.

I'd like it if they just made everything account-wide, particularly the store items. It would make playing alts more enjoyable.

I like FF11 as a concept but after playing FF14 I just can't. I tried to play it and I discovered how much I take for granted in FF14: maps appearing when I press M and going invisible as I move, quest markers on NPCs, easily distinguish players from NPCs, hotbars with a 2.5 GCD instead of what felt like a 6.5 GCD or worse, keybinds designed for a keyboard/mouse instead of trying to work with a game designed entirely for controllers.

All in all, I spent several hours trying to navigate out of the starting city due to the poor controls, camera controls, difficulty seeing a map to navigate and orient. When I finally navigated out, it was a giant bowl - I felt physically sick with how basic the terrain was. Then I tried to leave the area for a better town I remember 15 years ago in the trial version, and an enemy was too powerful and destroyed me.

I was sent back to the starting city, and wasn't going to spend hours trying to escape it again, so I quit... they should modernize it but when they struggle to even solve fundamental issues in FF14 for years, there's virtually no chance they will in FF11.
Farming keys, going through dangerous zones to find the coffers so you can Open them to get your AF. I died a lot but I had a blast...
The closest we've really had to that is Eureka, especially before it had The Echo and aethernet nerfs. You had to actually navigate past dangerous enemies, especially dragons, in Pagos and Pyros. It was most fun in Pagos (my favorite zone), but I used the stealth logos action to get beyond them to the last boss as a PLD in Pyros despite being very low level, which was super fun because I wasn't supposed to fight it at my level. The lions and some other mobs in Hydatos could be pretty rough as well.

Eureka was extremely fun because of it being like that, but they don't want to do anything like it outside of instances. Which is why your best hope of anything like this is Field Operations and Deep Dungeons - fortunately, we are getting a Field Operation in the near future, although it remains to be seen if it's anything like Eureka. They had feedback to nerf it (resulting in Bozja) because a lot of people don't like the FF11 style like we do.
Dungeons - I want to see them be more unique. Reason why I enjoyed ARR dungeons. There was dungens where you had to do more then just kill mobs, like Click on switch or stand on platform, Those little things made dungeons more fun..
I agree that they seem to have stopped these things. I know as a tank main that speedrunning is fun and a big part of dungeon culture, but the gimmicks in older dungeons are good:

Qarn and its HM (beams, Doom, bees), Copperbell (clicking and blowing up walls), Wanderer's Palace (freeing prisoners and being chased by a giant tonberry), Pharos Sirius (trick corridor and vulns, trick bosses), Sastasha HM (reducing water, add that generates enemies that heal them, Kracken boss where you kill tentacles), Lost City (mimicks), Hull Breaker (mimicks and traps, a monkey that you click trees to feed them bananas), Sohr Khai (we used to kill eggs and jump platforms), Sohm Al HM (drag enemies to vents to add vulns), Halatali HM (drag enemies to chains for vulns) + cyclops mechanics + free eachother mechanics at the last boss.
I want to see Side dungeons that isn"t tied to MSQ
We get 2 per expansion and we get 3 variant dungeons, to be fair. But are the gimmicks anything like what I just described? Not really.
    maybe add set bonuses.
I wouldn't like that mainly because it forces you to use a certain gear set, entirely, even if the other substats aren't good. So if the tomestone set bonus was better then no need to raid. Instead I think a "special materia" that drops from duties to either apply a unique effect like you described or an animation glamour would be better.
I would love to see them Port over the Glamour System from FF14 Mobile into Retail
That would require them to be better at coding. As it stands (and as I predicted before it released), the mobile developers seem substantially better and according to Yoshi-P himself, they are faster at developing.

What I want to see in 8.0 is for FF14 players to realize that NONE OF WHAT THEY HOPE FOR WILL EVER COME TO THIS GAME LMFAO

Just unsub lmao, they'll never innovate, they'll never revamp the content

Unless it's Halitali, Sunken Temple of Qarn, Cutter's Cry, Dzemael Darkhold or Aurum Vale, to make them as formulaic as everything else.

Thats the reason Gearing up in FF 14 is extremely boring.. They need to do something to spice it up.. I like the Gear bonuses, i know they can make it work.. Also I'd like to see them add Epic Gear.. We need new tier of gear besides blue gear..
