I'm fairly certain the poster you are quoting is referring to shelf life of the content (which has room for improvement in FFXIV), not time of a singular run.
7.1 in sum was very meager in that regard unless you enjoy progress raiding.

Indeed I was, lack of replayability and lack of variation in the content with said playability makes for dull experiences. Once your done with the content, your done with the content in 14. Where HSR and Gogomuffin (which I started recently), both mobile games, have things with replayability in weekly content and variation (dragon in gogo as well as Horror || DU, Memory of Chaos, Apocalyptic, Pure Fiction in Honkai)... FFXIV at this point is an AFK simulator great for RPers not so great for people who enjoy engagement with the game state.

#FFXIVHEALERSTRIKE
1: Healers need something to do when they aren't healing, the lousy one button dps experience and occasional second just is not enough.
2: The sustain of the nonhealer jobs has taken our job from us...which has left us nothing to do besides our lousy one button dps experience.
3: We do not need most of the healing buttons...a lot of those buttons can straight up be removed or consolidated. Which would be a good thing to consolidate using the new sys.
4: Pure & Shield means nothing and having any combination of the two is just overkill.
It doesn't help that all jobs have been simplified and homogenized, if they were more varied and unique it would help keeping content fresh for a longer time, if things get dull you could just switch to another job to spice things up.Indeed I was, lack of replayability and lack of variation in the content with said playability makes for dull experiences. But this would also require for the devs to actually make use of the battle system, most "casual" content barely make you fight in the first place and if they do it's so easy that you could clear it by closing your eyes and pressing random buttons.

I give you thousand reasons if you wantWeird that a casual niche MMO doesn't actually have casual content eh? Because I can't see a single reason why anyone would play this over WoW (any version) for raiding, PvP and tryhard content, with the small exception of DD solo which is basically all FFXIV has going for it.
the graphic in final is better, the classes are better (i had not with one class in wow so much fun then i had with reaper/dragoon/samu/viper) the races are better, no race restriction on classes, no dumb fraction system
raiding wow raids are not really harder sorry to tell you as someone which played wow for more then 10 years in the hardcore scene, im sorry to tell you that, atleast our ultimates are more fun.
open world content? lets be real if i go to a fate or to a world event in wow theres not really that big of a difference.
yeah, I'm right there with you. Personally I am currently diving a lot in Darktide and Deep Rock Galactic, both games with just a fraction of the content available in FFXIV, but with a perceived bigger replayability for all kinds of content. Different builds and mission modifiers keep things fresh even if you know the baseline of what to expect. And group play with my friends feels generally more engaging and cooperative than running content in FFXIV.
I still have high hopes for Occult Crescent, mind you. On paper it reads like it could bring a lot of fun to the table. just the release date of a year after expansion launch is incredibly unfortunate.

Eureka Anemos came out in 4.25
Bozja in 5.35 it was delayed
Occult Crescent is not delayed so its probably 7.25
LOLOLOL YES
I think players are so worried about content luls that we forget we're already in one.
Player base is dropping and we need casual player base.
It's coming in 7.25 that's not bad. Lets hope the initial release has some meat in it.
I really think they should add the relic grind on 7.1 onwards
I remember when the base versions of Zodiac weapons were available in 2.0 and the base versions of Anima weapons were available in 3.15. Now Dawntrail's will be almost a full year after the expansion releases.
