I would have to agree with you on Atomos though, I do not remember Cavernous Maws being linked to Atomos aside from the design. Though I wish the dev team would have remodeled Atomos altogether instead of using the FFXI rip and having everyone go nuts and saying Abyssea is here. xD Besides, weren't Cavernous Maws introduced in WotG? Not Abyssea? O-o
I did all of WotG missions and yes the maws were linked to atomos in FFXI. They used it as a way to take players to another time, reality, dimension whatever you want to call it.
