I'm actually really going to miss Dalamud when this is all over. I know the new maps and areas will be great, but I love how menacing that giant red moon is. Looking forward to seeing what Yoshi-P and the team have planned for A Realm Reborn!

Who said it wouldn't still be there in 2.0? I doubt it's just going to vanish. The threat might go away but it will probably always be there.
Also people stop acting like the only FF game Atomos has been in is FF XI. This does not mean FF XI is coming to FF XIV.

This is true, seeing as how it does not collide with the planet at all. It may end up being a huge lolwtf dungeon someday, which I would probably enjoy, and chew bubble gum while kicking ass.

Have you seen the trailer, is specifically shows Dalamud hitting, and it says how the only way we survive is being sent through time to wait, then we come back.
Also Zumi, the maws weren't just in Abyssea, they were in the past as well, looking exactly the same, this does not mean Abyssea will come to FFXIV, if it does I know a lot of people will quit. Atomos looks very similar to all the other Atomos incarnations, with some differences as he evolved so to speak.
Also for anyone who doesn't know Atomos is a gravity type mob/summon/whatever which is why he can suck people into his huge mouth, and in FFXI he had the ability to move you through time, if there was a linked maw, working just like wormholes.
EDIT: Stop calling Atomos a Carvernous Maw that was just FFXI, some people need education on FF games it looks like. Atomos is Atomos just like in all other games.

Actually, in the trailer it seems like something emerges from Dalamud, like some sort of bridge. It doesn't exactly collide at all, at least not in its entirety.Have you seen the trailer, is specifically shows Dalamud hitting, and it says how the only way we survive is being sent through time to wait, then we come back.

I would have to agree with you on Atomos though, I do not remember Cavernous Maws being linked to Atomos aside from the design. Though I wish the dev team would have remodeled Atomos altogether instead of using the FFXI rip and having everyone go nuts and saying Abyssea is here. xD Besides, weren't Cavernous Maws introduced in WotG? Not Abyssea? O-o

I know right? Atomos was incredible in IX, destroying an entire city, and damn that thing scared me.
Also, I haven't finished the GC questline yet, so I'll have to see what happens concerning Dalamud. I do love it!

*internet hug to Anony Moose* If it's any consolation I think the 'easy mode' is just the current Rivenroad fight? I'm not exactly sure. Either way, it's /pretty/ lame but it falls into the same grey-area of lore-breaking as being able to repeat missions to help your friends with them, as far as I'm concerned; the patch notes even basically say it's an OOC challenge. It doesn't look like something people will want to be spamming for gear or anything as much as "can you beat the final boss fight in 1.xx in hardmode?!? are you fierce enough!?" with a good but not overwhelming legacy item to show off as bling / proof of valour in 2.0.
7UP!

The first thing i saw when I saw those Maws was is Abyssea and [S] zones coming to FFXIV?
Look at it its a copy paste job from the FFXI cavernous maws. Giving how much people loved abysssea in FFXI they could bring the same system to FFXIV.
