The fact that they initially talked it up by comparing it to Animal Crossing and then had to hastily walk all of that back as they started releasing more concrete information didn't help.

My biggest beef with Islands (besides the grind) was the fact that it was "supposed" to be enormous but with all the movement options it became no bigger than our front lawn. They should have taken the opportunity to have something exploration worthy that took time, like some sort of re-explorable terrain, for example say a "bamboo forest" or cave ruin complex that resets and changes shape each day, kinda like a non-combat version of the Criterion Dungeon for explorers and gatherers. Not just a giant sack of grass with 2 rivers running through it.

Technically zombie apocalypse is existing in ff14 same with apocalypse, and not really seducing its romantic and enjoyable scene, idk where you got bdsm from more like kinda being a demon and taking pleasure with your prince that people who were your enemy are being skinned alive, impailed, placed into a brazen pull, ripped apart by birds etc in a chamber you built and I mean its technically your island, so you should have the power to shape it anyway your heart desires it to be including more "evil" or darker ways
