What's our next Companion? Is it a Moogle?

We've been leveling the same chocobo companion for over 11 years now. Most of us have capped its level by now.

The UI calls chocobo a "Companion" rather than just "chocobo" that's summoned by gysahl greens, so it feels like they intended on having more than one companion at some point during its creation.

So what is it, and why is it a fluffy flying furry moogle?

Really is cruel the way our squaddies have been treated. We worked with them, learned and grew together, tried to eat the sausages and cutlets. Then just dumped them in the barracks for years with no real purpose. If they're retired, let them hang out on Island Sanctuary.

Yeah I don't remember the last time I used my squadrons. But it was also a broken system. The AI now is leaps and bounds more advanced than the squadrons, so I have a feeling they'll not be returning.

I like this idea! We could adventure alongside our squad members and they'd assist us according to their job.

It was funny being able to talk about your chocobo to Ardbert. Like damn I haven't thought about the bird for 2 years.

1.0 actually had an NPC for a companion. You quested with them as part of the whole Path of the Twelve storyline with Minfilia.

I assume my companion died during the Calamity But it would be amazing if you had the option to be "reunited" with your 1.0 companion for characters that played back then, or to form a new relationship with a Cartenau survivor NPC even if your character wasn't part of that.
