There's always a lot of discussion about quality of life features that people would like in this game and I personally haven't seen this or mentioned it myself. This game really needs a voice to chat feature where I can just speak into my mic on the ps5 keyboard and have it write it all out. I've learned to type as fast as possible using the controller and ps5 keyboard but it's nowhere near fast enough especially mid combat or when you need to explain a mechanic or something.

I mean realistically a modder could introduce an AI to Voice every line in the game without it be complicated at all to do so I don't see why they cant just do it themself without text-to-speech. Voice actors arent even needed today to be honest anyways

WoW already has an addon that reads quest text for you in a matching voice for the NPC.
It is not a question if it is possible or not.

I think those of you who've responded misunderstood the original post. They're not asking if there could be text-to-speech, they're asking for the opposite, voice-to-text... to be able to talk into their mic, and have the game input what they say into the chat window. Could be helpful for console gamepad players.

I wasn't sure what to make of the responses lol. So for anyone who doesn't know how it works on console I use the D pad to move my cursor to my chat which is usually set on party and hit X. It then opens up the Playstation digital keyboard. I'd like to just talk into my mic to type out my message and hit done. I had a a couple sprouts in Dzemael Darkhold tonight and they were clearly new so I had to keep stopping and typing out everything like staying in the purple crystal dust and keeping the boss in it, standing together in the door unlock nodes etc but it was taking so long just to say basic things and it just dawned on me how annoying this has been for all the years I've played this game. Kind of hard help people or save your group from another wipe when they'll pull before you're even half done typing etc.

tbh for that your better off getting a keyboard either bluetooth that works or a wired one that will connect to console

You don't need to use the on screen keyboard you can use an actual keyboard with PS5.
