The week 1 crafted gear market(in my experience) is not at all what you describe. There are SO many omnicrafters competing against each other SO hard for those early sales that the market is lucky if it still holds value after a day or so. Whatever prices you see at server-up on day one are often down to 1/3 of that(or less) within 24 hours. You can do unlocks(grab an upgrade or two), cap tomes for another piece, get into the new extreme for a weapon upgrade, buy whats left the next day for a bargain and be looking for PF groups on wednesday(with 6 whole days to get those week one clears). And before you say you still cant afford it, gil is crazy easy to earn. Spend a night or two farming an extreme like hades or titania. Collect the crafting mats(desynthing extra weapons for extra chances). Easy money. Youve had 8 months to farm gil since the last savage tier released, it isnt like the game forces you to start from 0 on patch day. Hell, checking your 2 free retainers a few times a day and selling whatever actually good stuff they bring can passively add up to 10+mil per patch without requiring any actual gameplay.

And... unless im remembering wrong, the first floor or two of the savage dont actually have those higher requirements. Isnt M1 just 700 min? Meaning M5 would be 730, which you can get now? So yeah, starting your own group is also actually an option if youre feeling gatekept by the "veterans".
