MMOs have always accommodated a mix of solo and group content. Duty Finder is one of the best things about FF14, but I also enjoy Trusts, and they coexist perfectly well. I don't think Ultimate would ever be Trustable (and if you want to "practice" there are websites for that). But I can imagine enjoying the Eden raid with Thancred and Urianger, which at this point is almost all (nearly? just assuming) soloable in any case, or even the newer raids. Making content Trust enabled allows them to better control difficulty over time. It was disconcerting to spend 3 hours preparing to fight Titan only to have him die in 10 seconds in Duty Finder. Or the infamous Praetorium/Castrum instances which are now infinitely improved as well.
