    I'm gonna have to lean towards no for this. Extremes/Savages/Ultimates are...well, optional, and not everything needs to be made into a single player experience in an MMO. Ultimates, even the old ones, are the biggest tests of a players' skill, so they shouldn't be able to be done unsynced. As for Extremes/Savages with trusts, they would have to overhaul any DPS/Heal checks those fights would have to make them always do-able by bots, alongside making it so all the bots are guaranteed to successfully resolve every mechanics so the fight would even be clearable to begin with. A trust system for these would probably become the preferred way to do any Extreme/Savage/Ultimate if that was the case given it'd just be easier to do these with 7 bots that will be guaranteed to clear the fights as long as you resolve the mechanics yourself successfully, especially if you would still get the clear rewards for doing so. Trusts for the mid-core/endgame content would take away a lot of the experience these fights give players as well as the achievement of overcoming greater and greater challenges with a bunch of friends/other players.

    Honestly almost everything that's been criticized in XIV seems to always boil down to their programming or UI departments. Housing, inventory, glamour, viera hats, duty support AI, netcode and character positioning, everything is subpar compared to the MMO competition and I have a hard time finding a reason that could explain a serious issue of incompetence or management when it comes to those departments. I don't know what they are doing, but it's been a systematic disaster since the game launched. In comparison, this doesn't happen in their creative departments much.

    The problem is technical debt accrued during the ARR crunch.

    I dont raid or do Savage/EX's and yet I'm not fond of the idea of having trusts for Savages, Extremes, Unreal, Chaotic, etc contents. I feel it would not be a cost effective use of Square's resources. That said, I do HIGHLY encourage them to add trusts to ALL MSQ Trials/missions, etc with the sole exception being the Crystal Tower series Aliiance raids.

    I advocate for trials/missions having trusts because as someone who regularly replays the MSQ using Trusts for story reasons it is frustrating beyond belief to get stuck at the older trials/missions for 30+minutes while waiting for folks to queue. It kills the flow and immersion and its nearly always during a peak moment when your excitement and eagerness to continue on is the highest.
    Please SE, for the love of all that is holy. Before you add trusts to another optional dungeon, give MSQ trials some trust love first!

    You know, I was curious about that, because I heard both, so I googled it for a short while to see what I could dig up.

    From what I gathered (see Youtube Vids here (thanks to Jeeqbit for his signature) for Yoshi-P saying there is no technical debt in the game itself from 1.0 and here, a discussion about a server issue that happened ~2 years ago), the technical debt may be localized in the backend structure of the game and not in the game client itself (can't say if that is the absolute truth, we are all lacking insight about the inner workings). That being said, I feel like this could be it, just look at how your friendlist loads, or knockback effects on a large number of affected entities.

    So its either that there is different kind of technical debt depending on what kind of FFXIV you look at, or Yoshi-P lies.

    Which interviews? Are you thinking of the interview where he spoke specifically about technical debt carried over from 1.0?
