I think there should be an unskippable ad before every pvp match and after every pvp match too.
There's some real good ideas here to get Square Enix some more money. I hope they take it.

This is good way to make SE lose lots of money when many players will stop playing FFXIV completely, FFXIV will get instantly banned from Steam and in worse case FFXIV could get flagged as adware.Hello i got an idea! Square Enix could introduce unskippable ads in Final Fantasy XIV as a way to generate additional revenue, allowing the game to grow and offer more content. These ads could appear during loading screens, before entering dungeons, or when teleporting to major cities. To make them more interesting, they could be related to the stuff we doing. example if you enter Limsa lominsa you could get Broom ads , Sea food ads , if you go the crystarium you could get some Blackout Blind Ads or things like that.
By implementing this system, FFXIV could secure extra funding for improvements, new expansions, and more frequent content updates, all while keeping the game financially sustainable
Example if we are doing MSQ after the next cutscene rolls we get to watch 1 or 2 ads and then the cutscene resumes.
If you are Raiding ex Savage , Ulti etc. after 5 wipes you do, you would get another Ad that you must watch if you alt tab the game it wont count and the timer will freeze this to ensure that you watch the Ad.
It can also work on the world map if you are AFK you could get a 10 minute ad and since you are not on the screen it wouldn't affect but if u come back u have to watch the remaining ad time to keep playing.
Also we can get a little boost of XP for leveling alt jobs if we answer surveys about the ads that we just watched something like food buff.
And not forget that ads in games, software and website can be used to spred malware.
Here is a good example what happended years ago with Spotify where free users got a malicious ad that randomly opened their web browser, entered to the website that contained malware and infected their PC.
And yes this almost happened to me too when i used Spotify free version on my PC but i was very lucky that had anti-virus addon installed on my web browser back then and it blocked the website and my PC didn't get infected by the malware.
If ads gets added to the FFXIV that will be the day when i stop playing FFXIV completely and i will delete my SE account instantly.
Youtube only have ads when you watch Youtube as free user but if you pay for Youtube premium, you can watch Youtube ad free legal way.
And of course you can block ads by using adblock.
Ads never have being future of gaming and it will never be future of gaming.
And ads in mobile games already sucks and it's main reason why i rarely play mobile games and there is only 2 mobile games i currently play and both of them don't have ads.
Any game that gets involved with crypto and NFT's is instantly huge NO for me and it's already the main reason why i refuse to buy any Ubisoft games because of the NFT BS they made and still trying to put NFT BS to their games.

That's a great idea! Ul'dah should look like a NASCAR event, Square!
Or you could pay a monthly subscription fee like I do for FFXIV, YouTube Premium, and DI.FM to eliminate advertisements forever because I can hear the fnords.
We have seen mixed reactions to the idea of integrating unskippable ads.
The future of Final Fantasy XIV depends on financial sustainability, and developers need more funding to continue delivering high-quality content.
Without additional revenue streams, the game risks entering maintenance mode, where new updates and expansions become infrequent or nonexistent.
One potential solution is the integration of advertisements within the game.
The gaming community often holds strong opinions regarding advertisements in games, and in this case, the backlash stems primarily from concerns over immersion, and the overall impact on gameplay.
Many players tend to judge advertising in games harshly, assuming that any form of in-game advertisement is inherently predatory or disruptive.
However, not all implementations are equal.
We feel that what we are thinking feels natural or even enhances the experience.
There are several extra approaches that could make this transition more palatable for players.
One option would be to implement in-game billboards in city hubs, themed to fit within the lore of Eorzea.
Another could be optional sponsorships for in-game events, where players could engage with ads voluntarily for cosmetic rewards.
Cosmetic collaborations with brands that align with FFXIV’s aesthetic might also be a viable option, allowing players to opt into themed gear or housing items
In-game ads could become a necessary feature in FFXIV, appearing in various areas such as raids, instances, cutscenes, and even the login queue.
While this concept may seem controversial, it would provide a steady income source to ensure ongoing content development, server stability, and improved game features.
Many successful games have already adopted advertising models, allowing players to experience additional content in exchange for brief ad interactions.
If implemented correctly, this could allow FFXIV to maintain its high production values while avoiding drastic subscription increases.
If we want to continue experiencing new expansions, raids, and stories, we must accept that in-game advertising might be the future.
By embracing these changes, we can ensure the longevity and evolution of the world of Eorzea for years to come.
The game has done well enough without your idea of unskippable ads. To be clear, if this game ever incorporates unskippable ads I will never buy another game from SE again. No thank you!
No thanks, SE do earn enough on this game as it is, and could earn more, but they decided to neglect FFXIV as it is.
No thanks, no thanks and no thanks, I pay for playing this game already, I think you must have lost it for good, and SE earn enough on this game to make it run, they just neglect development.
Please go away.
100% agree! If you die to twisters you should be forced to watch an unskippable 30 second ad after the pulls over, this also stacks if you get revived and die to twisters again
I have been adding so many fake toxic positivity posters to my ignore list lately because I'm so sick of interesting discussions getting clogged with satirical white knights trolling. It was funny the first dozen times, now it has become tiresome.
