Tolerating atrocious gameplay is still toxic

In every other MMO, people bash and criticize people who are playing less than optimal. That is not nice.

But this MMO has swung completely to the other extreme. People who point out someone was AFKing, doing literal Heavensward damage numbers (since they were only doing autos), in the most diplomatic manner possible, are bashed and criticized.

If you wanna be toxic at least be toxic to the people who are disrespecting your time.

This is why php forums have gone all but extinct everywhere else... not even the League of Legends boards were this bad, and Riot retired those years ago.

Hobby centric boards were usually useful, however they were also often moderated. The amount of blatant bait and troll threads without forgetting necroing ancient topics is unusually high here.

Being toxic in any circumstance is not ok, really. If anything then because it generates a stigma about a particular class or group, both of those doing it and those who are critiquing the performance.

To edit onto this post, people practically use 'toxic casual' for anyone not playing up to snuff, when it should be on the premise of whether they are receptive to feedback or not in the first instance, and whether they do strive to improve (Something you may not even witness in the duty - Only when they go for another duty). On the other hand, it is people that are toxic in the first place that generally leads to people viewing the critique of performance as a personal attack. Neither of these is conducive to a healthy outcome by any objective measure.

That being said, if people are inclined to be defensive when/IF you are actually being diplomatic and sensible then no amount of toxicity is going to resolve it - The only thing this is, is a thinly veiled justification to be a clown. Just kick/vote dismiss and move on about your day.

(I do say IF with a capitalization because a lot of people don't actually know how to be reasonable or sensible in the first place.)
