Zero gear on FFXIV Store

I got excited for Zero's gear as i did want it. Maybe more so her paladin look but I liked her reaper form. Only to go online and see Viera and Hrogthar hat not supported.

Im so tired of seeing this with 2 races that have been in the game for what 5 years at this point?! 6? You know what i get it. It would be a undertaking going back to do hats from ARR to present. But your telling me you can't even be bothered with new hats and ones that you charge for that matter cant be supported. Are you serious?!

It's not about the individual hat, it's about a system-wide inability for them to wear headgear that hides the top half of the hair but leaves the bottom half visible. Regardless of whether that's generally reasonable/acceptable/explicable, it's not something that any single hat will get an exception from, however special it is.

Zero's gear being in the cash shop isn't really surprising since they throw all the NPC unique glamors there since they're all easy money makers. What is a bit surprising is how, I suppose in a manner of speaking, "fast" it got released when compared to the other NPC glamours people can purchase.

The Crystarium Prodigy's Attire, aka Alphinaud's Shadowbringers attire, was released in Patch 6.5 [If anybody has exact dates for these then they're welcome to correct me at any time if my time frames are off]. Shadowbrings launched in 2019, meaning it took approximately 4 years for this to be given to players. G'raha Tia's outfit is more recent as we got it in Patch 7.1, but it is pretty much his look when he joins the Scions after 5.3, so that is about 3-ish years or so for that character glamour. Zero's last appearance was Patch 6.5, which was October 2023, and it's only patch 7.15 currently. We got Zero's entire unique glamour set; her outfit, hair, and scythe, in less then a year and a half. We JUST got Hilda's hair in the cash shop after over A DECADE of players asking for it, and now suddenly they also throw Zero's stuff on the cash shop immediately after it. They didn't even bother trying to find a way to let the hat be used by Viera/Hroth [I don't think anybody really expected them to do it]. They just took the time to make sure it was compatible with the two dye system and then shipped it out. They also "split up" Zero's whole outfit, with the actual outfit itself being 12 dollars, Zero's hairstyle being 5 dollars, and Zero's scythe being 3 dollars.

NPC Glamours / accessories being added to the cash shop is really not that surprising given they've been doing it for awhile, but the "speed" of which Zeros was just kind of...thrown out there is a bit surprising. Both Hilda's hairstyle and Zero's entire glamour are both easy money makers to add to the cash shop given how many people have asked for them. But given one item took over a decade to finally be obtainable by players and the other is now obtainable after just a little bit over a year since it's last appearance in the MSQ, it's going to raise a few eyebrows and make the conspiracy theorist players ask "Why are they suddenly releasing two highly requested items on the cash shop one right after the other?" and then theorize/doom-post more after doing so.

Shame it's on the cash shop and not the new battle zone. It's a cash grab from SE and I expected better from them

And what did they promise in that video that you feel they didn't deliver on? Did they never say how they were going to deal with viera's headgear? I think we've already seen how they dealt with it. Arguably you could say that viera having a large amount of customization is pretty laughable but the same goes for any race in the game, really.

They said their dev team is working to give the viera a high amount of customization and that their long ears require them to make some changes to how helmets work, and that information to how that'd work will be shared later. Did they not reveal how it'd work later? Because I'll take your word for it. Just saying I think we've seen how it's working thus far.
