"Fatal DirectX Error Has Occurred (100000)"

Event Viewer brings up the following Message:

Event 10010, DistributedCOM

The server Windows.Gaming.GameBar.PresenceServer.InternalPresenceWriter did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

Attempts to disable GameBar or stop it running in the background have not changed this.

EDIT: Updating the GameBar app has stopped this error message appearing, but now the game window opens for a few seconds and closes without any error message.

Event Viewer does dig this up:

"MSDTC encountered an error (HR=0x80000171) while attempting to establish a secure connection with system [leaving this out in case it's something sensitive, doubt it but still]."

Mucking with Firewall permissions stops this message from coming up but the game still crashes before the title screen.
