I am not reading 45 pages of forum slop sorry. It really isn't any harder to read previous posts declaring the problem of DT being "catering to the woke" nonsense than it is to post asking a question. While you asked that, you could have checked the prior page to see what led to that comment and how it related specifically to Dawntrail "criticism" now that SE has moved their crew back to Japan.

The context of that quote was on the literal previous page
Why would you ask “what’s happened here” then not even look one page back, hell you can just press on the little button that sends you back to the quote of the person quoted
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Who is this "we"? Across the last couple years here and on our reddit threads, I've seen zero threads outside of Titanman bait that asked for any deliberate or out-of-the-way "focus on current social issues". The matter was more the likes of "If you're going to introduce a whole two-part country that alleges to be decently, could it actually get some decent scale this time and more diversity and fleshing-out between its races than just what differs mere clans of the same one? Some scale and depth would be nice to have for once."I don’t know. Let’s take a look at our feedback contributions
1. We kept complaining the game was too hard until it became too boring to bother playing.
2. We kept forcing them to focus on current social issues the west is mostly interested in instead of writing engaging stories and good gameplay.
3. And finally, when they did all the things the west wanted them to they all ditched them game because it was ruined.
Meanwhile, complaints about the game being "too hard" has almost always focused instead on the difficulty curve being jank (little to meaningfully teach how to play through exposure alone before end-game, and then massive differences between first learning a fight and all subsequent runs of it), not that there is actually hard content to do, let alone that typical content is "too hard".

SE seems to think Meso America is only about tacos. Especially the localization team.Who is this "we"? Well Kate is gone, so maybe we will see some improvement.....that is a biiiiiiig maybe tho. I have no idea what this new lead has done or what kind of job he does, so for now I will give him the benefit of the doubt

I'm done with supporting SE, they haven't put out a good game since IX, debatable X maybe
XI - Darkshade - ShivaXIV - Shade Highwind - Figaro

It was the social stigma that was developing around it that was the concern. You had people who had no idea that there was discord groups and they would go up and put in a cipher and take one of the spots, most likely unprepared and could potentially screw up the raid, not bring the required jobs, taking the spot of lets say a time mage or thief or bard. There was also the mechs that could one shot all 48 people (snowball, fireball, bridges, rune axe, holy lance) that lead to even more scrutiny. On top of this, there was the sophomoric vision that the devs had for how participation of the raid itself (24 veterans taking 24 newbies through the raid) Basically so many factors that could lead to a unknowing person becoming a pariah and then ostracized by the community. And as of this document, clear rates are very minimal across all data centers. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=621297886 We have nothing official after the live letter saying they had 400 clears back in June.
