What is your point? That you pay your sub? lmao what.
You say that. But then there are people that bought the house and the house is empty for months while they attempt to sell their account with a medium/large house. You dont need to be a bot to multiown houses.
You can dislike people multiowning as much as you want, multiowning literally has nothing to do with botting.
On topic though, I agree, if the pacing in between major patches is this long, auto demo should at the very least be tripled, since Yoshi P says we need to play other games, auto demo should follow that pattern.
@ OP if they were to extend the demo time peps looking for houses will suffer the housing system needs help it's been needing help. .
This has been my argument for a while now. If houses aren't just a way to tie people into a subscription out of fear they'll never get another one, which is something Yoshida outright said they didn't want to do. Well, prove it. Have the auto demo last the length of each major patch. That way people can take breaks if the patch content isn't to their liking or there simply isn't enough to keep them hooked ala 7.1You dont need to be a bot to multiown houses.

Of course they won't do that because SE knows it's a free money hook.

They should just overhaul Island Sanctuary and let that be instanced housing and keep the ward system for those that want that so those that want to be isolated have their homes and those that want neighbors have the ward system. I prefer the ward system since my neighbors in both Seraph and Exodus are also friends, so I see them often at their homes. Just recon the Island Sanctuary storyline and make it be unlocked after completing the ARR msq too.
Then the current 45 day auto demolition could be kept only for the ward system plots if they don't ever extend it.
Meow Mansion - Rinoa's personal mansion located in Exodus LB W28 P28
Mihgo Manor - Minaa's personal mansion located in Seraph Shiro W14 P60
Yoshi P's intention is to make money for SE. As long as that auto-demo timer is set to 45 days, it increases the number of subscribers. More subscribers equal more money for SE.
Just some quick back of the napkin math:
Each ward has 60 plots.
Each city has 30 wards.
Five cities.
9000 plots per server.
85 servers = 765,000 plots
$15 subscription fee per month per plot = $11,475,000 per month.
At most, that's $137,700,000 per year, before we take out multiowning of plots. That's about $140M in revenue from digital real estate.
Now, consider that FFXIV supposedly sold 3 million copies. For a whole new game, with years of development, at around $70 per copy - that's $210M in revenue. And then the sales just stop. Yoshi keeps FFXIV up for another 6 months, he just brought it more revenue than FFXVI did.
SE doesn't stand to benefit by extending the auto-demolition timer. So they won't do it. As long as housing is scarce, it'll keep people subbed for digital real estate.

We know that. The point isn't SE making money, the point is SE making money but not providing the content their product should promise by the nature of being an MMO. You want money from your customers every month, then provide content for your customers every month. Not make a shit housing system and solely profit from the trust/fomo/loyalty of your customers. That's just vile business practices and need to be called out as such.Yoshi P's intention is to make money for SE. Or even put instanced on another planet via Cosmic Exploration… at this point, I don’t care where in the game universe it ends up as long as they add it somewhere! lol Give us a moon we can “terraform” (maybe via some kind of permit) to look like any background scenery environment we want, and beyond that it should have all the functions and features of a ward plot. They should just overhaul Island Sanctuary and let that be instanced housing and keep the ward system for those that want that so those that want to be isolated have their homes and those that want neighbors have the ward system. The wards need auto-demo because they are taking up space in a permanently loaded ward, which prevents other active players from getting a house due to the scarcity of such permanently loaded wards. Want a housing plot just for you that you don’t have to worry about ever losing? Go instanced.
But if they do that they won't be able to scam people into subbing every month.
Remove demolition entirely. Implement instanced housing. Island sanctuary showed the devs were close to this: they gave everyone an instanced tropical paradise complete with the ability to decorate it with furniture. They probably stopped development because they realized how it'd impact their bottom line.
Is it so unbelievable? They've always been like this.
If you ever went to the housing forums, you'd have a stroke watching these people compete for the best corpo glazer award.
