    Sorry if this comes off a bit salty, but there are some undeniable facts about this mode: it only stays alive during Moogle events. And even then, it’s not actually "popular"—it survives thanks to a small dedicated group. I can’t speak for NA, but in EU this past week, we’ve barely seen around 100 people playing Rival Wings at peak times.

    With such a low player pool, the randomness of team sorting is almost nonexistent, making premades significantly stronger. Most of the time, you have a 50/50 chance of getting queued together—especially considering that if you start the queue at the same time, you're very likely to end up in the same match. And let’s be real, that’s not even hard to coordinate, even in Frontlines.

    Adding a Rival Wings roulette would definitely help increase the player pool and reduce this issue—I get that. But as it stands, the current state of this mode is far from ideal.

    You bring up some valid points when it comes to its current popularity and being on life support until the next moogle event but the same has been said for Frontlines as well. Without a daily roulette, FL would be equally as dead only being sustained by the longtime and dedicated FL players pooling together to make their own events. I for one would not touch FL at all if not for the daily xp reward. Unfortunately we can't actually test that theory because it's not like FL is going to be removed from the daily roulette any time soon.

    Gamemodes like CC tend to have a more active playerbase because of the smaller team sizes, fast games, no advanced objectives outside of a payload, and the fact its on the top of the PVP list. FL and RW don't have any of those to help boost numbers. On top of not being easy to understand for a first timer either, they're gonna suffer without some level of support to pool players into it.

    And lastly to bring back the post that I initially replied to: I don't like premades in FL, I don't like how zerg-like and boring the game mode is to me, but that doesn't really justify deleting it either. There's people who love the mode and want to play it daily. If anything we should be looking into supporting each of the PvP modes that are here right now.

    I'm still puzzled by why SE hasn't tried a RW roulette.

    Reading between the lines of other content, they seem to regard engagement as the one metric that shows it's "good." And along with other rewards, XP is the bribe they favor.

    for now i'll say that... roulette of 1 map is their excuses. And reworking the other map il like a -1 priority

    • RW apparently can't have a "daily roulette" for one map when Frontline already does this.
    • A Frontline map was removed for 3 years to make very slight changes but an even more inoffensive RW map still can't be played after 7 years.
    • Two storyline trials were physically removed from the DF but Astragalos has to stay there and be unplayable.

    Puzzling logic.

    The primary issue I have with Rival Wing is those 2 baby protection screens
    Why are we not allow to attack enemy base at beginning to prevent pilot from boarding?
    It should be one of the strategy to be used and making base defense meaningful and canon useful again
    Current Rival Wing, when your team is at situation that defending and using canons, you are just on life support and it is matter of time you are going to loose

    I started playing pvp back in june 2023 (both Frontlines and rival wings concurrently). As an achievement hunter, i was beyond thrilled when i finally got my wings of fire achievement done for winning 1000 RW matches! That said, the trouble with RW is that people only really care to play it during mogtomes because it is an efficient way to get tomes. Thus, you would have your good players who know how to play and really try. And you have your suck players who are only there for the rewards and call you a "sweat" or a "try hard" if you give even the slightest indication that you care about the outcome. Many of them freely admit they don't even know what the objective of the game mode is, what the train rewards are, what the mechs do, or how soaring works and they have zero intention of learning.

    I general, you knew which team was going to win before the matches even start. You know which good players are playing, and how many of them are on your team... Ultimately, playing out the match feels pointless because it is kind of a forgone conclusion. Frontlines is kind of like this too, but nit nearly as pronounced as RW was.

    If we did get a RW roulette, i would like to think we would get new good people that could help balance things out and make matches more interesting. But since i don't see that happening, i will just be glad i got my cheevos done and ride off into the sunset.
