FF14 response should be like this:

"ok we will do instanced housing"

A new structure -> The Great Company.
2 variations, FC and Personal.
a fc or person creates it. and other FC or persons join.
Once enough join then the leader is able to create a neighbourhood. everyone who's FC or peronsonal char is in it can either move their house permanently into the neighborhood system, or buy a house in that neighbourhood instantly.

if someone (or a FC) is kicked out of a neighbourhood they retain their house in some limbo state and then can join or make a new one

Instanced housing could work if they added the ability to upgrade apartments and fc rooms maybe you could own multiple apartments and there is an ability to add the planters inside the house.

it would be a great way to introduce a new area .. like the one that lopo's promised us.

They said that they would make it to where you can upgrade your house this xpack. small to medium medium to large etc.

I feel like they will eventually expand it to apartment rooms too which would be awesome

Given that one argument against instanced housing is it kills the neighborhood feel, it would be nice if there was something happening in residential areas. Half the houses in mine have no garden development and months can go by between sightings of others.

While I agree that a greatly improved instanced housing system is needed, WoW housing is not an argument to use promoting it. WoW is going with their own version of a ward system, not instanced housing.

it sounds like they are doing both systems.

Same here… as the patch cycles lengthen and people are increasing complaining in other areas about having nothing to do, I really think they need to take a hard look at what keeps players active (and subbed) during the long waits for new content, and invest more time and resources there. Housing is a large part of that, whether it’s people like me who just enjoy decorating for its own sake, or people who run venues to create in-game attractions and events for their in-game communities.

Happy as I am to see the kinds of things they were trying out on the Island, the new interior remodel (which hopefully will inspire more unique layouts in the future!) and the interior size change they’re working on, I don’t want the innovation to stop there. WoW is calling out the issues XIV housing has, and while those should definitely be addressed, I hope they go a step further and try to make something even better.

im kind of interested in how the actual placement stuff is going to work also for the WoW housing. they implied it will have user friendly controls.. will it be like AUTOCAD style placement or wiggle-and-hope like we have in ff14

super excited to see what they do and i hope they are able to deliver on all of it as it will get the SE devs excited again for the competition to do better and more for the game they love
