Honestly right now, that is a much better option. The story is better, the gameplay is better, battle is more fun, and there is plenty of stuff to do and collect. VS here where you log in, maybe do a roulette or two of the same dungeons some of us have been doing for 10+ years, maybe do a map or join a hunt train for the 217th day in a row and then, unless you are an LL enjoyer, log out. So one man's downside is a lot of other ppl's good time.

Edit to add that even the cs quality is way better. The confrontation between

at the end of TWW was absolutely amazing and I wish we would get the same quality of CS in this game instead of npcs just standing around stiffly emoting. Same with the VA being leaps and bounds better now. WoW leaves me wanting more story right now while I cannot bring myself to do the msq here right now.

Mao finding MUCH more gameplay in WoW and, at least for Mao, gameplay in WoW is MUCH more funs. For example, gatherings in FFXIV is basically flyings around to known gather nodes and then picking away in complete safety. BORINGS! In WoW, gather nodes is show ups in different places, is sometimes guarded by critters, is sometimes booby-trapped and sometimes gives differents and interesting things. MSQs in WoW often has minigames and interesting battles. In FFXIV, MSQs is....talk to Lady Fuzzy Cat. Boss fights in WoW is scripted like Boss fights in FFXIV, BUT....is still lots random elements and is much more funs for Mao than Boss fights in FFXIV. Glam system and Flying system in WoW is also much more funs for Mao. And now will soon be house for Mao in WoW. Is no contest for Mao. WoW givings Mao much more funs. Mao just wishes FFXIV would get hints and try make FFXIV much betters as well. Then Mao would play both games.

I find it interesting people say WoW and FFXIV are different games, because to me they are the same artery with different trappings. There are some different things, but sometimes that isn't even a good thing. "It's different that FFXIV is zone based and wow is open world" and I hear excuses like it's so there is more stuff in FFXIV compared to WoW and I think "you have no idea what you're talking about" because that isn't true (wow has more things to do and so long as we are not looking at vanilla zones is equally decorated in terms of quantity of decorations). Or on story and it's like, yeah WoW could do more and funnily FFXIV could do less (we don't need to know about the damn soup as an MSQ thing).


Often they're not 'just different ' it's just one does a thing better than another. They absolutely lean on and fit the same vein of thoughts and almost always could be copying each others homework.


There are very few things that just can't be done vs "that's done worse, don't copy that". Like I prefer the combat UI in FFXIV for markers, WoW has a lot of unintuitive fights (though they are smartly now taking that better quality, finally).

Both games suck and people should frankly just play quality single player games and hang out with their friends IRL or on a good multiplayer game instead.

Installed WOW again a few days ago, decided to make a new character. Same night I'm doing valentine events, dungeons in prior expansion due to level scaling (Havant bought latest one yet), flying a mounts with a fun flight system, hot bars full of direct damage, CC, AOE, Buff's etc...
Chat's fine, more mature than what I see in FF at least, maybe a more relaxed TOS actually lets people have a broader conversation.

Switch back to FF, first thing I see is a naked cat girl kneeling in front of an aura in Tuli (Not like degenerate stuff is limited to limsa anymore), can't think of any content to do that I actually want to do that I haven't done already. Logoff and go to bed.
