Isnt that how we got the current housing lottery system? People were literally begging on the forum for a lottery system for like a good solid 2 years, and then we finally got it and those same beggers were 10x more hysterical, screaming about how terrible it actually wound up being lmao.

Same could be said about the demolition timer. The timer was also added by community request and now it's one of the prime examples how SE keeps players hostage.

The demolition timer is a doomed if you do, doomed if you don't feature unfortunately. It was implemented so that people who fully quit the game would not leave their house corpses behind, and that is not a bad thing, considering the awful housing system is not instanced and operates on actual plots within the game world.
The biggest issue with the current implementation is the relatively short timeframe until your house gets destroyed (45 days), which disincentivizes breaks from the game due to how sparce housing is and how much time/effort it takes to actually get into it. So really, how many other times, it was a feature with good intentions and awful implementation.

Semi related, I hope they implement the internal size change feature for houses for apartments as well...

I remember those things blowing up when they introduced a first look at Viera and Hrothgar.
Only other things I could think of is probably Blue Mage being added to the game despite YoshiP saying it will never happen at one point, and probably summoners begging for Egi's for a few years.

Bug reports often get a look and some QoL suggestions make it to production. The couple dozen threads where people share their superficial complaints about the game's story or doomsay about the game's future, they achieve nothing other than ego stroking. Game development is hugely difficult and takes a long time to get most things done - especially with such a large-scale game as this. There's no way any development team could realistically keep pace with the majority of forum threads.

One big change that was done from Forum feedback was when they attempted to do "Greed only" in Alliance raids. It lasted like a week before the rescinded it because of the massive forum backlash.

Well, it got male bunnies and I think female cats. Of course, now there are giant threads about how people are unhappy with the models and they want complete redesigns as well as hats that hide their ears or something... I haven't really read much in them. The only way to fully fix those two races would be to just delete them entirely. I haven't seen any other race with so much hate than those two have.

So yes- posting 10,000 page threads will eventually cause some change, but it's rarely a good change. I've seen threads on how healers HAVE to do DPS in order to defeat boss fights only to be followed next expansion by, "Boss fights are too easy. Our healers are so bored that they're doing DPS to stay engaged!" Recently there was a thread about how the new banking mechanic for flying mounts was literally causing hundreds of people to vomit on their keyboards due to motion sickness. I've served in the Navy and I've flown on airplanes a lot. I've also went on carnival rides and even the second fastest roller coaster in the world. I've never seen anyone get motion sick from 4 degree bank on a computer screen. But... people complained and the bank got a major reduction. More changes.
