I've literally never had this happen before lol, what have you done to make yourself known enough to have this be a common occurence?

It's a thing. I've had it happen to me. /busy fixes it. I've never turned it off since.
They sit there and spam trade requests over and over to keep you from teleporting. The only way to fix it is to do /busy.

It's annoying but just blacklist them.
Then you won't see them again, they are dead to you.

While it is confusing why it is a thing that can happen, I also can't imagine it being this big of a problem. The only time I have it happen is when my wife or friends are messing with me and we are all trolling each other. And we only do it to those in our friend group so yeah... it's weird that you are having it done to you by randos.

SE will temp-ban people who teleport scam so GMs do punish those who do.
Real question is, if this is a common occurrence for you, what exactly are you doing to cause people to do it? Are you throwing too many footballs in your neighbors lawn or or something???
Real solution is to just blacklist those who are doing it to you though.
I pretty much just hang out with other lalas in grid and converse mostly in linkshells.

It's just what the people around me called the act of trading someone mid teleport to stop them from porting out since 2.X so I guess I still call it that, woops. It was happening enough back then to warrant a term at least amongst the people I knew.
I see, the people I knew just called it tele/trade cancel
