Speaking only for myself, I've just gotten bored with the forum. Feels like it's the same handful of people having the same handful of arguments all the time. (And no, I'm not saying people shouldn't complain or give feedback or whatever, just that reading it over and over is even more boring than a rotation in Sastasha.) I browse through every few days just out of morbid curiosity, I just don't bother to say much.

Doesn't help that I've been feeling some burnout for a while now. Haven't taken a break in a while. Might unsub until the next patch, I dunno.

Same. Got really into reading the forums for like a month or two, then got bored of seeing the same handful of threads at the top every time. Every time I peek back in, it's just...that same handful of threads at the top, with the same conversations still ongoing. Kinda boring.

This is such an unhinged take. We were given 2 free fantasias recently and you're really trying to argue that people using them means they were secretly unhappy with the update to their character?

Some people don't have an unhealthy attachment to their character, and as well as being able to cope with miniscule changes in their appearance without having a meltdown, they're also able try out playing as a new character when given the opportunity to do so for free.

Eh...it depends on the face and the race. To this day, I was say more angular faces won out with the changes. Rounder faces don't like the new lighting, though.

Also the lighting from housing is sometimes *bad*. That weird, almost segmented lighting glitch in particular.

Just kidding, the character update is one of the very few things I can praise Dawntrail for, it cured my fantasia addiction. Only thing I'd want would be clan marks on Seeker face 1.

Miqo'te have nothing but round faces and it seems mostly fine, although light sources themselves can be pretty inconsistent so milage may vary depending on the location.

The interior housing lighting has always been terrible if you're not making generous use of both windows and specific lighting furniture, not really a recent problem.
Some of the lamps still don't even cast a shadow on characters or furniture, lol.

Remembering past forum dwellers' names who haven't been around in almost a year and making a whole thread about them is a little weird. I'd completely forgotten these people's names and I've been on this forum for over a decade.

Maybe I just have a goldfish memory, but the only forum poster of yore whose full name I remember was that one guy who was obsessed with European castles, absolute monarchies, and blonde Garlean women. There was another guy whose name is on the tip of my tongue whose name was a Byzantine emperor like Theodosius or something who was a prolific poster until he apparently got banned when I wasn't paying attention and his friends accused me and/or some others of being secret SE employees.

The forums used to be fun and there were real characters. Now like others said it's really boring.

I feel the same way.

I used to enjoy visiting the forums but lately I've just been playing fleeting visits as, to be honest, I find the cynicism and constant negativity tiresome - and the fact that 'toxic positivity' accusations get thrown at anyone who comments on the overwhelming negativity - there is a middle-ground that some seem to completely miss.

And to be honest, I miss how supportive I found the forums when I first came here.

The first thread I made here was one that, basically, asked for advice as I was struggling with the game and questioned whether I should even persist with it. And the majority of the replies were supportive, offering advice and encouragement - okay there were a few 'get gud/skill issue' type replies too, but not too many.

These days though? No way in hell. The still-active (at the time of this post) thread pertaining to the "Taking a Stand" solo-duty demonstrates how things have changed; it's the opposite of my thread of three years ago - a few supportive replies but mostly just players replying with variations of "get good or get lost".

And I'm not saying players shouldn't complain either - it's just a pity that complaining is all that really happens here anymore.
