What is the reason you're still subbed?

It is my comfort game much like PSO2 was. My friends, the roleplay, community and most importantly my endless love for a specific character keeps me subbed. I also like to help and I still have so many goals to achieve! I want an ultimate clear, the big mentor horse, clear any of the deep dungeons solo ! I just ...have to get over personal lumps and improve.

I've checked out of the story though the 7. story has been awful and I do admit this is the one story I took ages to finish and I plan to scene skip in the future if I do alt runs

TBH i have no clue why inm still subbed, i barely touch it anymore and even let my house get demolished ( it was surrounded by multiple open plots that used to have houses on them as well. been subbed for 11 years now and i think its time to pull the plug, the games dead atm and the devs dont seem to care or have a clue .

I'm currently unsubed (done April 3) because I'm just not enjoying the same old formula. I started in 2018 near the end of SB and I took a long break during EW. Just not enjoying the game as much as I used to and I honestly just log in and do routine things. Log in, gold saucer, teleport to apartment, check retainers, run some roulettes, log. I'm in in an fc and haven't really enjoyed them in the past so it's become a pretty isolated experience. I love my apartment and all the work I've put into as well as all my glam etc but DT story has been a big part of loss of interest as well. I wasn't really a fan of how they handled EW but it was at least a lot more interesting then DT...shame because with the graphic updates and a lot of the music and zones being beautiful in DT it Just fell hard and flat.

I've read comments saying people keep playing because of fomo and I am guilty of that 100% but the question has become "is it even worth it anymore?"I have nothing to spend tomes on since I'm not interested in playing or gearing other jobs and the story in 7.1 was completely pointless. I'll let my time expire and see how the game evolves over the course of this year. At the beginning I said I'm tired of the same old formula and what I really meant by that was gearing. It takes way too long that it discourages gearing other jobs in a game brags about being all jobs on 1 character...so if I were to switch, every single piece is a week plus a week depending on what you're doing.

I enjoy playing the game. When I get bored of it, I take a break for a day or two and play something else. But then I miss this game and want to get back on. There's a reason I pay the 6 month sub. I don't see myself quitting in earnest anytime soon. I simply log in and play the game. Gear up and level things I haven't already. Do treasure maps for money. I like doing these things, so I stay subbed. I know it's hard to imagine someone actually LIKING Dawntrail right now, but I do. Can't wait for 7.2!

I'm still subbed because I'm still enjoying the game. I don't mind the release schedule honestly, I'm really very happy that I have plenty of time to play other games and I can do roulettes once or twice a week and still stay caught up for the next patch. In fact the new Jeuno raid has gotten me hooked on FF11 and I'm thrilled by it so far, but it's a huge time sink too and I feel comfortable that I can invest that time and stay with FF14.

I know there are criticisms about the story but I've been enjoying it too, it reminds me of Stormblood but in more positive ways and I think Alexandria is really cool. I wish people would tone down their emotional responses to the game, running an MMO is more difficult than any of us can imagine, ups and downs are just part of it. I'm happy to step away for a while and play other cool stuff that's coming out and coming back to FF14 every few months for new content, and eventually coming back for the next expansion which is always exciting.

I think if you find yourself dissatisfied, just play another game. There are plenty of other MMOs out there you can play with friends, like WoW or Warframe, both have hit the 10 year mark like FF14 and have hundreds of hours of content to chew on. Big new games come out every year and there's new indie games all the time, they are not all great but you might find something really inventive and unique. You can take a break from FF14 and come back when there is more new stuff out, it's not like you are breaking a contract or something. Whether we like it or not the devs can't do everything we ask of them, if that's too much then spend your time elsewhere, it's not a big deal.

I'm not subbed because the quality of FFXIV fell off a cliff and it's no longer worth paying for. It's barely worth playing for free. I logged in to do the 4 side quests that have been released since my sub ran out and got so bored I logged off before finishing hildibrand. I used my job abilities in a one time instanced fight, and that was all the pve there was to do outside of organized raiding.

To play with my raid group. Two hours twice a week. Log in, raid, log out. That's 16 hours a month for $15, which seems reasonable to me.
