What is the reason you're still subbed?

What was or will be your snapping point. What needs to happen for you? Have you cut your sub money back? What steps are you taking? What is your motivation.

For me personally it's all on the next patch and if any of the following happens in succession I'm gone

* cosmic doesn't drop on patch
* savages are unnecessary difficult or unbalanced
* msq is a disaster like 7.1
* trial is boaring and not fun to farm
* shades triangle and is a slog fest with no interesting story and just a mindless painful grind like eureka
* no statement is made regarding dissatisfaction with content release schedule

I am subbed almost strictly because of friends that I have still playing. I still find this as being a worthy justification. But I can saying that I am having fun because of them and not really because of the game.

When they are no longer playing then that will be my breaking point. Or when I have more common games with them.

As far as the game itself is concerned, then I am really already at my breaking point. People are kidding themselves if they think MSQ is suddenly going to be interesting... They're kidding themselves if Cosmic isn't just going to be a reskin of Ishgard Restoration from a different angle.. They're kidding themselves if they think Shade's Triangle is going to actually innovate at all.. It will be Bozja with a fresh coat of paint.. I know as much as anyone else how healthy that type of content is, but it's literally their 1-trick-pony content, and beyond a certain point it's just going to be the same old with a fresh coat of paint.

They aren't going to acknowledge dissatisfaction with the content release schedule because this would also require them to provide information on how they intend to address those issues, and the only time they seem happy enough to give a statement is when it follows "Our code is almost so old that it can claim health insurance".

I would absolutely love to be wrong more than anyone else, but there's nothing to indicate that I will be wrong.

If I am not playing with friends, then I am playing something else entirely.

I enjoy the game. Crafting, decorating, doing a match of PVP here and there, maybe a daily, farming some variant dungeons, doin' RP here and there, treasure hunts, spending a few hours grinding mount tokens while listening to stand up routines.

But it's a little strange you opened up with asking that question and don't have an answer yourself.

Honestly, it is fun to play. Simple as that, no matter what the state of the game, or what people will say or do.
I have fun and that is all that matters to me.

I'm honestly checked out from the game gameplay-wise, I only maintain my sub for my FC, and even on that front I'm kinda waning.

Sad, because I was hoping to 100 all classes before I quit, but... I just can't do it, man.

For me it's just the raid group. If the raids (the actual combat part) get the MSQ treatment then I'll be leaving. Feels really close because that announcer is obnoxious to hear over and over and over.

Quite simple - I'm having a ton of fun. I've thoroughly enjoyed the MSQ and the first part of the Raid series, and there's always something for me to do (never really got too much into crafting/gathering or beast tribes back in the day, so I have a ton of crafting to explore and beast tribe dailies to do whenever the urge strikes me...especially since I've finally realized how much xp they give to help level other classes).

Well listen, I've unfortunately been subbing for too long, it's going to be fine, it's over at the end of February,
I'll come back 30 days later to open the windows and air out my housings, since it lasts 45 days before I don't feel like subbing at all.

Cosmic Exploration gets me hyped, but 7.25 is a long way off...

So many good things to do like: redo Ghost of Tsushima (not to wait for AC Shadows...), Infinite Wealth to finish, and lots of other games that take 100 hours.

I have been unsubbed for a hot minute now, I mainly come back during free login campaigns to play some frontline matches.

While I have many grievances, I'm not subbing anymore mainly because I strongly dislike the PvE job direction. The combination of the devs constantly changing jobs to cater to people who don't play them in spite of those who do, them designing jobs to be so on-rails that they might as well play themselves, and their insistence on not even acknowledging the feedback on most of those decisions made me gradually lose both interest in the game and faith in the devs since early EW.

My tipping point was seeing them double down on modern job design during the DT media tour, leading me to not even buy the expansion. That being said, after seeing VPR losing its debuff after less than a month of it being out, and the devs (finally) responding to the criticisms of the jobs' current state by pretty much going "uhhhh ask me again in 8.0", I can't say I regret it.
