How would you do it when you only have one melee in queue or available? The melee has to get somewhere, you can't exactly split them in half... Same for an odd number of melees.

2) is a problem. Especially in the current meta where support jobs are overwhelming red jobs in terms of effect they do have on the battlefield.

And then you have hybrid jobs (RDM/DNC) being considered ranged and melee by the system whenever it's convenient and you end up with lopsided crap like Hybrid Job + Healer + full ranged vs 2 Melee + Tank + full ranged.
