    Hybrid jobs are not melee jobs

    Too many times hybrid jobs seem to be considered as melees by the system, where you can end up with a team with up to 2 more true melees than your own because of it. It becomes even more hilarious when it's 2 tanks and there is an AST in the other team. Enjoy your uphill battle.

    Its been an uphill battle since 6.1 for people who only do PVP for fun and not the sweaty battles people want. Honeslty if they design like NIN to be meele make it os it can only use one range ninjutsu make the rest melee only Like doton or the forked raiju. The fact they are called melee but have ranged abilitles make them a lie

    So personally I believe PvP in this game is built like a Fighting Game in mind than something like a Hero Shooter-esk concept, which then in turn makes it fundamentally flawed so damn hard when they also put everyone on equal levels outside of 1v1's. Its really tiring that all of them somehow equal out yet they really aren't like Healers being able to heal without MP costs, and Ranged being able to almost always be on the attack.

    They should have addressed all of this by 6.2 or 6.3 already.

    There's no consideration for ranged/melee balance and neither is there a proper split for tank/healer.

    Matches would be a lot better if the system considered them partially. Such as if you have 8 DPS, 1 Tank and 1 Healer in queue it would prefer to split it 1T4D 1H4D with dps being balanced around ranged/melee and taking tank and healer into that consideration.

    The biggest issue with this system would be potentially increased queue times and less balanced matches (based purely on player rank) as the player pool might not be big enough to properly support it. Still it would make for less lopsided matches due team makeups.

    There is some manner of balance, I've never seen a game with 3 healers or tanks on one side and only one or none on the other, you'll usually end up with 1:1, 1:2, 2:2, 2:3 etc. Same for melees:ranged.
    When there is an odd amount of a role in the whole game, then you generally end up with one more on one team because obviously you can't split them in half.
    My problem is that the modicum of balance we currently have in the system is not enough, and gets skewed heavily by hybrid jobs that it likes considering as full melees or full ranged, where you suddenly end up with lopsided comps that it supposedly tries to avoid otherwise.

    I don't have hard crunched numbers to back it up, but I do feel that my chances as a hybrid job (DNC/RDM) of getting paired with a team that has at least a tank as a hybrid job are way lower, because if there is only one tank in the pool, it seems the tank will always go to the other team, because the game 1) tries to split supports equally and 2) tries to split melees equally.

    Supports are green/blue jobs, melees are either melee DPS or tanks. Since hybrid dps jobs are considered either melee or ranged by the system, then they tend to be considered instead of tanks and paired with healers first, while the tanks get pushed on the other side. Similarly if there is 3 tanks in the pool, then the hybrid job's team will get one, and the opposing team will get 2. What this ends up doing is putting all the defensive and melee options lopsided in one side, where the hybrid jobs end up playing melee/tank in their own side and it sucks.

    You're not showing the other team though? I've seen this happen regularly with 3 healers in a team, but every time the other team had at least 2..

    If just one side has that many healers, what do you think the other side has? The system does a 'very terrible job' at tying to balance the green jobs.
