What difference does it makes if you can watch them over at youtube in the next 2-3 days instead of live? None...

What you hear is the result of too little information. If they had released more than a website 2 trailers and a screenshot on the website, do you think we would care that there was no live video feed at Gamescom?

When your fans are starving for info, opening a restaurant of it and then putting up "Sorry, we're closed." when they're all lined up to partake is bound to trigger this reaction.

Do you really think a fan of FFXIV likes getting its information off other websites? Do you think they're happy having to rehash FFXIVs disastrous release every time some off-brand website posts a video or screenshot? And then after that, read through about how "it could suck again folks!"

Really, FFXIV is not controlling the message. It's barely getting the message out there. I really don't think they understand that the internet is everything. If it's not on the net, it practically doesn't exist. We are months before release and the vast majority of the gaming public does not know/does not care about it.

And for those of you who are wondering about Yoshi-P’s scheduled presentation and real-time demonstration, unfortunately we do not have any plans at the moment to release videos or to do a live broadcast. We will however be releasing information through various media interviews, so be sure to watch out for them.

To me that's saying the following: We will not be showing you the "Live Presentation" No where in his words did he say no " Gameplay Videos" just you won't be seeing him point to this and speak in Japanese to Germen people :P.

All of the youtube links are taken by attendees, and are not officially provided videos by SE. That's likely what we'll get this year as well.

This is precisely the problem. Background chatter, flickering screens, and the shakeycam effect (not to mention having to go hunt for this crap) all hurt the impression people will have of the video. It'll look cheap and be annoying. People will see the bad angle video and think "yeah, it looks like the same crap as two years ago, PASS" and not even give it a second thought.

If SE is going to delay gameplay footage until it's ready, they should then show off the footage themselves, in HD, with good sound, on THEIR website and youtube channel.

(Red) At least this much I wouldn't say. (Blue) I never said they "would" be releasing videos, I said that Youtubers and Media will be doing that. Yes sure it won't be of the Best Quality but it's still " Gameplay".. How else did they manage to get 500k people at Launch of FFXIV 1.0? and they did that without them giving Videos on there part.

I disagree with so many things you say, and it fascinates me how you can't find any flaws in the game and how they handle it. However I think you're entitled to your opinion, without people telling you off for it. I try to respect people's opinions, regardless of how ridiculous they may be.

But to say that you speak the truth is wrong. It's how you see things, but that doesn't make it the truth. We were supposed to get a flood of info (one which you have been going on and on about), and what we've gotten so far has been but a puddle of info. This latest comment from Youmukon, doesn't exactly help the situation either.

They need to step it up. After all this time, we haven't seen a second of in-game footage. We're all anticipating this game that we have no idea how works in practice. It's pretty ridiculous.

and anyways I agree, they do need to step up there game, as this is a different deal this time around, it's not like 2010 and its a new game. They need to show and prove to everyone that this is not the same game back at 2010. I do agree, and I do admit I'm overly positive give some people this much, but I just say what I feel.. nothing more.. nothing less, you can't change who I am. Don't like what I say? well, I don't know what to tell you.
