Of course SE doesn't care, with low sub numbers they will not invest big money in this game, they will simply milk it till it last and then move on. But honestly? It is the natural cycle of online games, especially those that have been on the market for so many years. They should shake thing up sure, but I doubt they know what would work at this point.

I will agree about the cycle of online games. But when an MMO game tells you that you paid a subscription to have privileges and of course updates, expansions, etc., then the one who pays you for the above seems like an investor and not a customer. For example, if they decide to close the cycle of ΦΦ14, then let them make the model free like they did with other games. Look, lineage2 had a subscription, it was removed,πut microtransactions in and the issue is over and you see inside you are being ruined by bots and players who have paid half their kidney in microtransactions to be on top. Here the game offers both, sub and micro, so I consider it unthinkable that they don't listen to the world and listen to investors taking the money from here and investing in games that they don't know if they will resonate with.

Friends quit more and more for me it's a major factor to be in an MMO the content will always end in each of those games.

The game always had grinds: stupid shit like 20,000 accursed hoards.

So idk why people think huge grinds are going to save this game lmao. If anything the grinds make it even more obvious how shallow FF14 combat is in 2025.

I used to stay subbed even if i didnt play much but now i just unsub when im bored, its not quitting but it is something they probably feel. Hopefully it drives them to innovate a bit

I did quit before 7.1, but returned recently, however I'm currently subbed just for the sake of roleplaying with my community, so I'm basically paying to use the game as a platform for that.

I still do other stuff but... those are kinda secondary, unfortunately. Once the RP activity dwindle or I get burned out of it, I'll probably shelf XIV again.

Didn't even feel like making a new glam the 5 minutes I was logged in, because this fucking company still won't give us the most basic QoL like multiple glamour plates per job (with the rare few glams they actually ended up upgrading the textures/2 dye layers for, what a let down that was too). Zero hope for there being any improvements to the job identities actually having any real... well, identity (i.e. the entire point of any class-based game). Even the story sucks now, the only real selling point this game ever had over its competitors.

I'll hop between free logins until my house goes into demolition, but yeah, I don't see this game ever pulling up again. No commitment to a direction, no creative leadership, executives who just see the game as a cash cow that people will pay for forever regardless of investment. I hope I get proven wrong, but I'm a realist. A corrupted game is less likely to be become good again than it is likely for a far better competitor learning from its mistakes eventually to rise up. I'm looking at other new MMOs now more than FF14. Eventually one of them will do everything 14 did but better.

Very true. We'll disagree on seeing FFXIV as "corrupted," but a very true statement nonetheless.

I'll be the realist here. That's not going to happen. The age of MMO's is long past. I highly doubt we're going to see another MMO that will rival WoW and FFXIV.
