And I just love how the moderation now is so petty that they will delete posts saying that FF14 is trash.

Maybe people can report my post asking to see if the GMs will reply in thread lol, but I really thought it was 'primarily' about info on third party addons. Not so much any negative feedback. Just my interpretation of the event. Do we know it wasn't due to that?


I 'feel' I get their moderation style given I have an absurd post count and have not once been timed out... I don't get the impression it was due to people saying the game has problems.

I logged in every single day for 9 years. Since about September, I log in once or twice a week. I haven't even finished patch 7.1 as the MSQ did a number on my joy of the game. I have a couple months left on my sub(I always have paid for 6 month stretches + 2 extra retainers), and will make a decision whether to renew or not. Once I let it run out though, I won't be returning. It's how I was when I left SWTOR, and LOTRO before that, and SWG before that. Once I walk away, that's it.

I do unsub from time to time. As early as 1.0, always unsub when I feel I need a break. So far only FFXIV have me come back after a break, may be I like my FC and may be the pace of game just suit me

Life change, get more family and work responsibilities and less time online. My only complaint would be those “hype train” content when it first released and become dead few months after it like this deep dungeon, Eureka…etc

need to give some incentives for players to revisit them.

I also come to this official forum less and less and rather visit other FFXIV forum. Official forum getting more toxic everyday, constantly seeing people who complain being label doomsayer and people who are okay with the current stage of game being label white knight. People who want to discuss current game contents, lore seems to have move on to other forum.

No, all I said was that I'm happy they quit FF14. No mention of anything violating the ToS. It's so funny, because it looks like they've deleted it for a third time!

Dog this isn't the 500 IQ take you think it is. This is the exact same nonsense people were saying in WoW. And guess what. People left WoW. That's why it has 4 different versions of the game running at the moment to keep players hooked.

And in before sexual harassment lawsuit take. WoW was hemorrhaging players long before this happened.

How is that a bad thing?

Why isn't it a good thing that players finally beat their addiction and quit a game that's just exploiting them with "retention strategies".

I'm letting my sub lapse, but that's mostly because the mogstation is terrible and literally refuses to let me update my card.

I accept the game for what it is. It is a good diversion when I have no other games to play. I enjoy the MSQ when it comes out and new challenges and sidequests. I accept that in a few months, a new patch will drop with a new gear tier that makes everything I have obsolete. I accept that the tomestone grind or raid grind will start again. And if I don't raid, I can upgrade said gear with hunt marks in 7.3 along with the new 24-man. There will be a new relic - maybe it'll be a tomestone farm. Maybe it'll be some other token farm. There will be another allied society that comes out - it won't be for DoW/M because there already was one. It'll probably be for gatherers this time. And it'll require doing a series of sidequests beforehand - followed by the same formula of doing quests for 3 days, then 5 days, then 7 days (but only turn in 2, then do the reputation up quest), etc etc.

In other words, it is formulaic. It has been formulaic since at least late HW. I can accept that because I don't need to play this game 7 days/week. I play it until I play something else. When I see a patch drop, I come back for a bit. And yeah - I'll resub every 44 days when inactive to keep my house open, then open it up again in 30 days before my sub runs out. That's a pain.
