True, but I don't think that's due to their formula but just due to them making it shallow. They can have their content schedule and fit new stuff into it without making it shallow, they just don't.

That goes for making the content within their formula better as well, such as FATEs doing more than autos and a conal.
You're really going to tell me Island Sanctuary was even 10% as good as Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley
It wasn't and it wasn't even fun. Just a mindless click grind. I used to play a kids game in the 90s like that which was actually fun, and some sim games that would actually play out people living their lives in what you've built so you could play god.

The only slightly fun bit of it was catching the rare animals but since the creature wasn't doing any sort of interesting actions or mechanics or presenting any danger, it didn't end up as much either.
