While I agree that Elon Musk has the emotional maturity of a teenager, he isn't one, and should be held accountable for his behavior, not that he will, rich assholes never see real consequence, but stillThanks i'm from the OG region of that "gesture" and even today its a giant drama if some drunk teen does it out of an bad joke, like everyone even just mocking it intents to start the third reich... neither is this Marvel and some secret organization is lurkin in the shadows to bring em back...
NOTHING changed, the same ppl are on the platform (except for those who decided to leave) and social media teams really should not chase every trend...
No, I am not trolling, I am pulling the rug from out underneath you because I refuse to give you ground to stand on.
First of all, thanks captain obvious, its called the autism web, used to be the autism spectrum. Second, your sentence is such a disgusting thing you typed because you're using autism as a shield for criticism thrown at Elon.
So that is another shield you thrown up for him, of being born to a rich family as an excuse for his actions. Hes a 53 year old adult, as in old enough to understand what not to do. He is not some autistic kid who isn't aware of the implications of his actions because of lacking life experience and proper knowledge.
I never said he has no excuse or that what he did was reasonable. That's yet another strawman. I just said he's not a Nazi. Are you really incapable of understanding the difference? I suppose I'm not surprised, as a teacher for 15 years I've seen this kind of poor reasoning in many students from your generation. No, I am not trolling, I am pulling the rug from out underneath you because I refuse to give you ground to stand on.

Mathematics and chemistry. History has nothing to do with what he did. He said his heart goes out and he made a weird gesture that only a person with no awareness would make, which perfectly describes Elon. You don't like him because he is associated with Trump. Therefore, you give him zero benefit of the doubt in his actions. His speech had nothing to do with Nazis or Nazi themes. Even if he threw up a Sieg Hiel genuinely, it would make ZERO sense given the context. The fact you're so caught up in this tells me you're spending too much time on websites like Reddit, which are full of propaganda, and bots which push an agenda. Everything people accuse organizations like Fox "news" of being, Reddit is, amplified a thousand fold. It is a feedback loop.
I highly suggest you unplug from things if they're upsetting you so much you think there's a genuine Nazi helping run the government.
The alternative, based on Musk's defenders in this thread, is that someone with "no impulse control" who is "weird AF" and has the "emotional maturity of a teenager" is helping run the government.Mathematics and chemistry. Granted, I'll take that over a Nazi, but it doesn't sound ideal. Like I wouldn't trust someone with problems like that to run a social medium platform, let alone a country.
I fully agree. He should have nothing to do with government policy. He's an idiot who is only in his position because he was born to rich parents and got very lucky. He is not nearly as clever as he thinks. Hopefully, this bromance between him and Trump will fall apart soon. The alternative, based on Musk's defenders in this thread, is that someone with "no impulse control" who is "weird AF" and has the "emotional maturity of a teenager" is helping run the government.

Thanks, for a second I thought it was going to be double jeopardy, of a historian not knowing history. But also yes history has everything to do with this because we are comparing present actions with past actions that happened almost 100 years ago thanks to video footage that has been archived.
Also just to link this back to the original discussion:
As in, X/Twitter is failing as a platform in terms of reaching people, and it would be wise to seek out other social media platforms like Bluesky.
Other than that, your honors, aka the other people who are reading this thread, the prosecution rests it's case.
You don't need to know something specific about history to be able to know whether something is or isn't a Nazi salute in the context of a speech. That might be one of the most idiotic things I've ever heard a person say. It's basically a cliche platitude that you're trying to pass off as clever. Good luck with your education. You're really going to need it if you can't generate original thoughts. Thanks, for a second I thought it was going to be double jeopardy, of a historian not knowing history. Even here, people are defending Elon. He did the Nazi salute and did so with pride on his face, he did it with vigor and he did it twice for good measure. There is no arguing with "ahahaha that is so Elon." He is a grown man and knows what he did. One of his most-read books, as stated by him, is Mein Kampf. He endorses the Proud Boys in America, directly supports the far-right party AfD in Germany, and has shown interest in Auschwitz. Come again with "That was just an awkward salute." He knows exactly what he did, and what makes it quite scary is how many people look away, act like it didn’t happen, or share still pictures without context to "prove" others do it too.
People should drop his platform in droves to show we do not tolerate Nazis. Bluesky is a nice alternative.
