Default Bluesky is just resist libs melting down, which offers no solution, no insight, no path forward, no reflection; it's just pure noise. Still better than Twitter right now though.

Twitter used to be very customizable too until 2023/24.

Fair enough I suppose, I can only vouch for my own experience, but I like the customization options for feeds it has.

Regardless, I don't see how SE maintaining a presence on relevant social media to disseminate announcements and information is something anybody could be against. Whether it's Facebook, twitter, tumblr, bluesky, truth social or whatever. Surely more people having access to information on the platform of their choice can only be a net positive for everyone involved, so I think it's worth consideration

Considering its current userbase, I don't think Bluesky is the type of place anybody would want to be associating with.

Not that X is a beacon of virtue, to be fair, but at least it's high traffic.

Actually, the userbase is equally thirsty and r34 is allowed, not much different than Twixer in that regard.

Functionally less of an echo chamber than most if not all other options though. I remember when some people wanted to drowned out a person they didn't like, they couldn't downvote them so they tried to flood their thread with offtopic content and images- those people were warned / punished (not saying I agree with the content but I had warned them that they are clearly trying to control the narrative and should just leave it to the moderators / not enter a thread if they don't like it).

Imo, moderation here is also easy to understand.

Can still criticize certain things, sure, but like what alternative is actually any better when you're trying to allow for diverse voices? Reddit? Literally designed to allow echo chambers. Twitter and blue sky? Lol. I am open to rebuttal but thinking for a moment, I hardly believe there is an easy, currently existing, "this one is better" than what we have here.

Whether you think bluesky is an echo chamber or not, at least it is moderated better and it is not ran by someone who openly does a sieg heil salute multiple times. I do not think it is crazy to ask for SE to have a presence on an alternative social media.

Well, my guess would be that Bluesky is only a thing because all the people who couldn't tolerate others opinions on X had to create a new echo chamber.

Ew, no thank you. The nut jobs on that site are pure poison. Curated or not, it's not worth it anyway since it's such a tiny blip in comparison to the massive social media behemoth that is X/Twitter.

You are already engaging in trying to control a narrative and showing your Bias. This by default makes you untrustworthy. I merely alluded that X is a place where you can find all kinds of opinions, from things you don't want to see and read about to things that are very curated and safe, depending on who you follow. I wouldn't equate lack of moderation with fascist doctrine personally, quite the opposite. Oppression tends to be associated with censorship and moderation whereas freedom does come with exposure.

It is eye opening people don't feel this way when it used to be common sense.
