Couldn't they just hold the same contests on both? One winner for X, one for BS, one overall, or something? More work for the people managing the accounts but hey, that's what they're paid for.

Nowhere did they imply that they should leave Twitter. They're asking for this thing called an "option", both can coexist, but they would rather follow on their preferred platform to keep up with news.

Don't think the reason is all that important when an official Square Enix account exists on Bluesky already, I don't see why an XIV specific account on it is this much of an issue to you. Also, the Twitter account is barely interactive with the community as is, copying and pasting is not as much work as you think it is.

No it isn't. Because people without an RSS reader should be made to feel bad for it. Stop letting social media companies dictate what you see. Even if you follow/like/subscribe you aren't guaranteed to see their updates unless the algorithm decides to.
