In a way, they already do. A Paladin, for example, can wear (not transmogrify) a Big Blue Dress.
WoW has had transmogrification for nearly 15 years and still won't let you transmogrify plate mail to look like cloth armor. Why would they start now?

Yeah, u can't do it directly from Plate -> cloth but since there are a ton of transmog items without armor classification u can still be a warrior running around in a dress.
the WoW anniversary was pretty badly handled and rushed because of their patch cycle I assume but it had a lot of cool stuff at the very least with timewalking and iconic tiersets alongside the new ones. The Chromie time mode was basically broken and completely unfinished.
Still a lot more work, effort and actual ideas went into it than FFXIV anni.

It's 2025, and I still just want a modern day MMO friends list with the usual, completely normal features to be implemented.
Surely, if I remove somebody from my friends list, it's completely logical to expect me to be removed from the other players too?
Completely baffles me why this isn't a thing. I absolutely don't buy the years old excuse that JP players were afraid of scenarios where an unfriended player asks them why they're no longer friends.

Why do you care if you're still on their list? You're either on their list or they can still just search you up in-game. Not coming at you, genuinely curious. It's 2025, and I still just want a modern day MMO friends list with the usual, completely normal features to be implemented.

The server swap thing is not as simple as "well WoW does it, so can we!!!" I don't think the game would like trying to deal with moving characters the whole way to another DC and then trying to plop them in an area that could be already overcrowded.
Glamour dresser though I wish they just give everyone with a house (personal or FC) a "bedroom" with a bed, glamour dresser, and the other stuff that's in the inn rooms.

True, after all Sqenix is a small indie company and its impossible for them to do what a more succesful MMO does on a technical side. Or what any other MMO does for that matter. The server swap thing is not as simple as "well WoW does it, so can we!!!" Can't even search for people that are on other worlds much less tell, so good luck finding them
Can't join a party while fishing
Can't enter a map dungeon if someone is mounting/dismounting or the party is still recruiting
Can't attack something that moves too close to you
Can't do...anything while on a mount, even though they became mandatory to get around
Can't meld materia too...quickly or something, still no clue what causes that
Clearly their new shiny toy will be FFXIV mobile and that's what we gonna get as a new update sooner or later lol
