    Auto-HDR Causing FFXIV App Failures

    After a Windows update last week, I noticed that FFXIV was no longer working with Auto HDR. Upon investigating, FFXIV had "Don't Use Auto HDR" selected under System -> Display -> Graphics settings. This was the only game installed on my PC containing this setting. When I un-selected that option, it generated the warning in yellow text of "This Auto HDR preference may cause undesired behavior for the app."

    Seeing that no other game I played was impacted by this Auto HDR option, I chose to run FFXIV with Auto HDR enabled despite the warning. This resulted in two instances where the game would freeze and a Windows pop up would state "This app is not responding", with the game crashing shortly thereafter. I re-enabled that option to not use Auto HDR and I've had no crashes sense.

    I play FFXIV and several other games in Borderless Windowed mode launched from Steam. Other games are far more graphically intense that FFXIV but they run fine. My BIOS is upgraded to the most recent update, along with Windows and all drivers.

    I want my Auto HDR back. The game looks dull without it.

    My system:
    OS: Windows 11
    Processor: Intel i9-13900K (there's a reason I updated my BIOS).
    Ram: 64 GB DDR5
    Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090

    What Platform are you using? (Steam/Windows/Mac/PS4 etc.)
    At what point does the issue occur?
    How often does the issue occur?

    Could you provide the exact error message received, if any?
    Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
    Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
    When the issue happens, is the PC over heating at all?
    Does this issue occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does it happen in borderless or windowed mode?

    All steps taken to resolve the issue:

    Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.
