Thread: 4.5 month patch release is NOT a problem

All of your casual content is gated towards later patches. That's what the problem is. There's no reason why things like cosmic exploration and field exploration zones should be kept towards the halfway to end part of an expansion. The only real casual thing players get until then is MSQ and some sidequests. Once you do all that, there's nothing more for the casual player to continue subbing for until the rest of the casual content comes out. Casual players aren't going to get gear or even try to do Exs or savage content. They will log in, do their dailies and log right out, having no interest in harder content for this game. Having no field exploration in Endwalker really showed this game's lack of endgame casual content. They rely heavily on the story and nothing else. That's what the problem is.

Release casual content sooner and complaints of "No content" will die down.

One of the main things is that in retrospect, the game has lots of content to do. But that is if your first starting out and are not cutscene skipping and are not buying a story skip. Especially if doing the side content aside from the msq. The thing is, its a drought if your at the current patch, the top of the mountain. Only thing to do is either:
A) Unsub and do something else.
B) Make an alt to re-experience all of the content again.
C) Idle around and become bored

This is why there can be a disconnect between players that are caught up and those that are catching up. If your still catching up, you are not experiencing the drought and you might possibly believe that those who are caught-up are just acting entitled.

you managed to completely miss the point why everyone is complaining, they're complaining because we get absolutely nothing in patches, not because they take too long, instead of actually answering questions, SE would rather sit and watch and make all of the fall on tone deaf ears, stop defending this company

I primarily play for MSQ and the patch cycle is downright painful, especially after the poor story experience that was DT. It feels like it'll take 100 years for us to get out of this slog, and that's assuming the writing actually ever does improve.
