Up until very recently when some people I knew confessed either a friend/ brother/ partner cleared for them I didn't even think anyone would do this..It completely flew over my head, and I was genuinely surprised. And then I also found out that selling accounts with all of those clears included is a very lucrative business.

I still don't understand the point of it. I guess sitting in Limsa flashing your undeserved weapon feels good to some people?

It's convenience ultimately. Why do it yourself and dedicate the time when you can open your wallet and have someone else do it for you in a day? Same thought process behind why people buy skips imo.

convenience for what???? Probably one of those people in the forums who were enraged that some of the glamours are locked behind Chaotic. (jk.. kinda or..)

Why do you even do any content unless it's fun and engaging for you?

As for the story skip. I support that because the story is an absolute slog. I didn't even think the story was that good, to begin with,and a lot of people have little to no interest in playing NetFlix or Otome.

Because you gain nothing from these fights apart from the satisfaction of clearing the fight and ugly weapons that you only tolerate because of what it took to get the weapon in the first place. It's sad if you want people to perceive you as someone with "prestige" or as someone good at the game by swiping your credit card on some dodgy website just because you're terrible at the game.

I wonder if anyone else is seeing the delicious irony that is that the people who defend the numbers site as a good thing are also usually the ones who clearly demonstrate its misusage.

I don't know how it can be any clearer how widespread the misuse of the website is getting. "Used only for self-improvement", haha, good joke.

Is it a misusage when you ask 5/10/20 clears in YOUR pf ? when you ask people to be on a certain prog point ? To know their rotation in savage/ultimates ?

And yes personally (everyone ?) I have a negative opinion on someone hiding their logs (if this person wants do to savages/ultimates)

As much as people hate to hear this, yes, it is. You have absolutely zero way to get this information within the game except for 1/5/10 clears of the final savage floor of the tier.

That means that you are using an external site to artificially gate someone that already qualifies for the party with the restrictions we have in game (Duty complete setting). That does qualify for misuse.

You can ask people to be at a certain prog point, nothing's stopping you from doing so. But if you go to a certain external website to get information you have no way of knowing and kick someone out according to that information that you should have no way of knowing, yes, it's misuse.

That should be a given that people should know their rotation before doing hard content. You don't exactly need any external tools to know that a SAM that's lower enmity than the BRD with no deaths is doing something terribly wrong.

Playing hard fights mainly for the prestige is kinda goofy whether you cleared it yourself or paid someone else to do it for you. Like who cares, people who worry about whether someone "really" cleared it should get a new hobby

Bad take. It's healthy for MMOs to have aspirational content and having people bypass the challenge to claim the reward diminishes that. There's a reason that you can't buy Olympic medals at the convenience store. They're supposed to represent a significant achievement.
