    We bounced a bunch of ideas around in the FL megathread prior to 7.1. It's clear something has to be done. I'm not sure if it's because former regs are quitting, but the proportion of players who are pretty much AFKing is definitely increasing. As are the discussions of "only here for the glam," and blatant statements from individuals that they have no interest in trying.

    If glam is their motivation, they could bump the Series Exp reward for winning. As it stands right now, losing 3 CC matches in the time it takes you to win a Frontline is faster for the Series, so by having Frontilines have a decent chunk of Series progress, people would be more inclined to try harder in them

    If the devs finally decide to do something about leeches/griefers one day, it has to be based on personal performance.

    Rewarding personal performance is a terrible way to promote teamwork. Watch as players spend the entire game licking ice, sitting on bum nodes, chasing solo kills, trading dps with their friend on the other team. No way will that help FL.

    The topic is only about griefers/leeches. Players who deal 300k damages and those who deal 2m damages, and not get killed 8 times, would still get the same reward.

    (and it wouldn't impede teamwork anyway... It's far easier to deal high damage when the team play together)

    Taking away rewards from 2nd/3rd place will just kill Frontlines. Frontlines is absolute garbage, and wouldn't survive without the casuals making queues pop.

    Frontlines needs to actually be enjoyable to play. Which it isn't. Square Enix has gone out of their way to design frontlines to be as anti-competitive as possible. If thats what they want, then nobody should be surprised when the PvP regulars spend their time elsewhere, and the quality of matches goes down since the people who the mode is now designed for ultimately couldn't care less about the meaningless outcome of the match. The Job design is absolute garbage in 7.1. I do not enjoy how any of my main PvP jobs play anymore. I do not enjoy playing on the 3 same maps that have been largely unchanged for over 2 years now. Frontlines has been made a chore. That has to be fixed. The reward structure then needs to be changed. There needs to be more weight to winning/losing. Add a special currency or something that gives access to special rewards only for winning matches. Add incentives for people to perform. Top 5 performers on each team recieving additional rewards. People who underperform or just AFK the whole match and do less than 200k dps, or just die excessively get a reduced reward (Just give them rewards equal to third place since they contributed nothing to their teams 1st or 2nd place victory.) ect.

    The reality is that nothing will change. It's like talking to a brick wall to even suggest changes to PvP. Nobody listens to any feedback the community provides. Just look at their track record of brain dead, nonsensical changes they've made to jobs in both Frontlines, and CC, and their inaction on serious issues for 6 or more months.

    Hmmm. I'd suggest this has the potential to reignite anti-premade sentiment. Maybe there's an equitable way of doing it, but I don't think we've ever found it. And as you say, the chances of it being implemented are slim to none, and slim is ocean fishing.

    I do wonder if a far more top-heavy team reward structure would encourage people who care to report AFKers.

    The thing is the solution has been directly, infront of their faces, for years, and years. Other PvP games have had these VERY SAME issues, and implemented solutions. Be that matchmaking systems, auto kicking lethargic players, adjusting job/character balancing, reducing player counts, slashing premades in half, adding a cap to the number of targets afflicted by an AoE, you name it, someones already done it. All Square Enix has to do is have their devs go and play these games, and see what works, what doesn't, and the positives/drawbacks associated with each system they run across. We don't even have to debate what's best. The R&D has been done by their competitors, and nothing is better than stealing other peoples useful ideas.

    Not sure about changes to roulette rewards, but I would reduce the number of participants from 24 to 12 per team. In crowd-on-crowd battles, it's very easy to get lost and pretend you're doing something. Also, it basically makes one alliance go predominantly in one group, as splitting is usually punished by losing. Reducing the number of players will also increase personal responsibility and allow those who do want to play to see the result of their play. And since the game keeps track of who killed how many, did how much damage, or how many assisted in killing others, I would make a podium at the end of the match with the players who had the most success in each category. Because everyone wants to show off. And this is a pretty easy way to satisfy that desire.

    I used to love FL I did tip my toe in CC but I much preferred FL. I am not sure what happened as it used to be so much fun and team work was obvious. They ruined the shatter map and we have lost borderlands now it seems as not heard anything for a long time and that was such a great map.

    I do not play as often now as I am tired of seeing players just running round on their mounts or just feeding the other team. I was shocked to see how little some players actually do and seeing their score >.<

    I mean I am not saying be the best but at least try. I am unsure it will ever be as it was I wish they would do something to encourage others to actually play lol.

    If they maybe improved rewards as a incentive, but I would love some real team work. I que in there on my own and I always try my best as it is a team game. I appreciate the players that do the call outs as I am on PS5 and my kb is not on hand most of the time but it does help and probably does help the new players.
