Where are the Hrothgar and Viera hats???

First post on here ever and I decided it's about time for me to complain because this starting to get ridiculous. Seriously, what is the hold up on the hats? I know I'm not a game designer or anything so the problem might be more complex than I'm capable of understanding, but we haven't had a word about how development is looking on that end and it's been nearly 6 years since Hrothgar and Viera have released. Without the ability to wear hats that cover your head. I just don't get it. I even held out hope that the graphics update might bring in just a few hats, but nope. In fact, it was even more aggravating because their solution to allowing us to wear headgear that came with a hat was just to... remove the hat. Like seriously. I'm still going to play Hrothgar (at least for now) because I've grown attached to my big cat boio, but it really does feel like I'm using an unfinished product sometimes.

There's no deep technical reasons. All they need to do is adjust hat models and tick a setting, but that costs money as they need to pay people to put time into doing that. Cheaper to just say it's too hard.

I think they could probably do a lot of them with just a texture change so it has an invisible circle where the ears are. However, I noticed there are many cases where a complete redesign of the hat would make more sense, especially due to the variety of ear types. My guess is their pride gets in the way and they want the hats to be properly redesigned to make sense for those races but obviously redesigning them for just those races is a lot of extra development work.

They should just settle for a simple texture change to allow ear holes. They do a similar thing on Elezens where they make helmets have pointy ear triangles, even though it looks really bad and a redesign would make more sense for Elezen. It's better than nothing.

From the evidence presented thus far, I'd say all the hats for Viera and Hrothgar are being given away as Custom Delivery rewards.
Away to other races, that is.





Jokes aside, I do not believe they will ever give updates to wear a majority of the hats for those two races. They will simply design some headwear that can be used, and the majority will remain unusable. It's a shame, but that's how they've operated for a while and they are keen on sticking to the same formula.

I am not 100% sure but I think Yoshi mentioned in one of the latest Live Letters that Hrothgar and Viera was never designed to wear Hats.

And that's the thing, they'd have unique hairstyles to make up for it, but that also didn't happen.
Both races should be able to have insane hairstyles because they wouldn't have to worry about hat clipping, but here we are.
