It doesn't help that they now have elixirs to fall back on and that they have gotten a 2nd battle high buff, but it is what it is.

It doesn't matter what type of premade you have. Premades are premades, and all premades at least have some sort of advantage that a soloist doesn't have. That being said, the true problem is that no one wants to adapt. No one wants to change strategies which is why combative premades are constantly snowballing out of control and why we're constantly seeing rule changes as a whole, rule changes that's probably not needed if everyone just adapted in the first place.

Maybe I might start truly learning the game again if they at least took out the elixirs. Until then, I'm reliant on multiple people to get me through, and if all I have are farmers when the groups show up, then I'm just at the mercy of the premades and there's really not much I can do about it whether I take part in the feeding process or sit back and watch them build a battle high faster than I can generate on my own. I mean, you can ban premades if you like. It'll change the problem of being farmed at a high rate. It'll change the problem of blowout games occurring. It'll change the problem of not making your own decisions. It's just not going to change the problem of no one wanting to adapt.

If you want to put in skill based matchmaking, go for it. I don't think it's going to do nothing for your premade problem though. The system is design to balance based off of solo stats, not team stats.
I believed you are confused about legacy of 24 men Frontline.
The 24 men Frontline works simply because only veterans will que for Secure 1.0/Secure 2.0 because this mode offers no incentive for PvE EXP farmers
Most PvE farmers will click roulette and often ends up in Shatter
This result Secure becomes a mode free of leechers and dedicated mode for veterans
As all 24 veterans knows how to PvP and understand how Frontline works, it becomes a feast for people to clash with their skills
Unless they bring back Shatter 2.0 and Secure 2.0, 24 men simply won't works because of current map size, all 3 maps do not have 24 men in mind on the drawing board (except Seize)
Also, with how current system only allows one mode to be active, you will still get pve farmers and leechers at size of 24 men
